The described technology provides a system and method for sequential execution of one or more operation segments in an asynchronous event driven architecture. One or more operation segments may be associated and grouped into an activity of operation segments. The operation segments of an activity may be sequentially executed based on a queue structure of references to operation segments stored in a context memory associated with the activity. Any initiated operation segment may be placed on the queue structure upon completion of an associated I/O action.

Asynchronous sequential processing execution

A key-value storage system is described herein for interacting with key-value entries in a content store using a resource-efficient index. The index provides a data structure that includes a plurality of hash buckets. Each hash bucket includes a linked list of hash bucket units. The key-value storage system stores hash entries in each linked list of hash bucket units in a distributed manner between an in-memory index store and a secondary index store, based on time of their creation. The key-value storage system is further configured to store hash entries in a particular collection of linked hash bucket units in a chronological order to reflect time of their creation. The index further includes various tunable parameters that affect the performance of the key-value storage system.

Two computing devices utilizing remote direct memory access to exchange digital data across a computer network can utilize existing registered memory and can transmit the digital data in slices, one after another while simultaneously registering a larger quantity of memory and, when complete, the rest of the digital data can be transmitted as a single block. Completion of the memory registration triggers a notification comprising a token, providing the sending computing device with direct access to the registered memory on the receiving computing device, and further a quantity of the digital data that has already been properly received via the slices. On the sending computing device, the registered memory is that from which the digital data is being sliced, and, on the receiving computing device, that into which the digital data is being reassembled from the slices.

Faster data transfer with simultaneous alternative remote direct memory access communications

Two computing devices utilizing remote direct memory access establish a send ring buffer on a sending computer and a receive ring buffer on a receiving computer that mirror one another. A message is copied into the ring buffer on the sending computer and a write edge pointer is updated to identify its end. The message is copied, by the sending computer, from its ring buffer into a ring buffer on the receiving computer. A process executing on the receiving computer periodically checks, at its write edge pointer, and, upon detecting the new message's header, it updates the location identified by the write edge pointer. Once the new message is copied out of the ring buffer at the receiving computer, a trailing edge pointer is updated and a process executing at the sending computer monitors the trailing edge pointer of the receiving computer and updates its own trailing edge pointer accordingly.

Flow control in remote direct memory access data communications with mirroring of ring buffers

A data consistency management system may include a memory storing machine readable instructions to receive a query, and determine a suitability of the query for processing by a NoSQL data store, or a RDBMS. The memory may further include machine readable instructions to rank data tables based on a combination of read queries and query patterns suitable for the NoSQL data store. Based on the ranking, the memory may further include machine readable instructions to determine data tables that are to be managed by the NoSQL data store, or by the RDBMS, determine whether the query is for a data table managed by the NoSQL data store, and based on a determination that the query is for a data table managed by the NoSQL data store, translate the query to NoSQL API calls for using the NoSQL data store to respond to the query.

Data consistency management

A system includes a database that stores attributes of applications that are descriptive of source code included in the applications and identification data that identifies the applications to which the attributes apply. The attributes are mined through a programmatic analysis of one or more repositories in which the applications are stored, and the programmatic analysis includes programmatic analysis of the source code included in the applications to derive the attributes. The system also includes a computer system configured to handle queries against the attributes of the applications stored in the database and provide output based on the handling of queries against the attributes of the applications stored in the database.

Mining application repositories

At least one quasi-identifier attribute of a plurality of ranked attributes is selected for use in anonymizing a database. Each of the ranked attributes is ranked according to that attribute's effect on a database-centric application (DCA) being tested. In an embodiment, the selected quasi-identifier attribute(s) has the least effect on the DCA. The database is anonymized based on the selected quasi-identifier attribute(s) to provide a partially-anonymized database, which may then be provided to a testing entity for use in testing the DCA. In an embodiment, during execution of the DCA, instances of database queries are captured and analyzed to identify a plurality of attributes from the database and, for each such attribute identified, the effect of the attribute on the DCA is quantified. In this manner, databases can be selectively anonymized in order to balance the requirements of data privacy against the utility of the data for testing purposes.

Database anonymization

Systems and methods are provided for handling database deadlocks induced by database-centric applications (DCAs). SQL statements and transactions associated with the DCAs are analyzed and parsed to generate Petri net models. A supervisory modeler generates augmented Petri net models based on the Petri net models, which are used in generating supervisory control. The supervisory control is used in handling database deadlocks.

Systems and methods for handling database deadlocks induced by database-centric applications

A code evaluation tool greatly reduces time, cost, and other resource expenditures needed to validate that an application implements desired functionality. The tool is a search, navigation and visualization tool that accepts high-level processing concepts as inputs to identify, rank, and return the code of a recommended application. A software developer may use the tool to validate that functional requirements are met by the recommended application. The tool provides an efficient way to improve the evaluation of application logic to validate that the application meets specified functional requirement and implements the desired high-level processing concepts.

Recommended application evaluation system

A graphical user interface (GUI) tool analysis system helps determine whether to purchase or license automated testing tools. The system provides guidance, e.g., to test managers, for making decisions on expenditures for the automated test tools. As a result, the test managers need not make purchasing decisions ad hoc, based on their own personal experience and perceived benefits of implementing a tool based automatic testing approach versus a manual testing approach.

Assessment system for choosing maintenance approaches for GUI-directed test scripts

A graphical user interface (GUI) type model helps application designers create error free graphical user interface applications (GAPs). The GUI type model provides a reference set of GUI element types. The application designer assigns a selected GUI element type to each GUI element in a GAP design. The GUI element types help ensure consistent and proper treatment of the GUI element types at every stage in the development of the application, from initial planning and design, to compilation and execution.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium tangibly embodied in a storage device encoded with instructions that, when executed on a processor, perform a method in a computer system for testing a rule-driven system, the method comprising detecting a potential read-write error or a potential write-write error in the rule-driven system, generating test results based on the detecting, and reporting the test results.

A hierarchal structure manipulation system may include a nested table generation module to generate nested tables representing hierarchal relationships of computing systems in a distributed computing environment. A hierarchal structure manipulation module may access at least one nested table to manipulate a hierarchal structure represented by the nested table. The hierarchal structure manipulation module may use a generic algebraic specification to manipulate the hierarchal structure represented by the nested table. The generic algebraic specification may provide a generic abstraction across a plurality of the computing systems in the distributed computing environment.
