A communication system includes an STB (Set-Top Box), an LNB (Low Noise Block Down Converter), and a voltage converter. The voltage converter is coupled between the STB and the LNB. The voltage converter includes a DC (Direct Current) switch element, a voltage regulator, and a controller. The DC switch element is coupled between an input node and an output node. The voltage regulator is coupled between the input node and the output node. The controller detects an input voltage at the input node. If the input voltage is higher than or equal to a threshold voltage, the controller will open the DC switch element. If the input voltage is lower than the threshold voltage, the controller will close the DC switch element.

Communication system and voltage converter

A splitter includes an input terminal, a first output terminal, a second output terminal, a first transmitting unit including a first microstrip coupled between the input terminal and a first node, a second microstrip coupled between the input terminal and a second node, and a first resistor coupled between the first node and the second node, and a second transmitting unit including a third microstrip coupled between the first node and the first output terminal, a fourth microstrip coupled between the second node and the second output terminal, and a second resistor coupled between the first output terminal and the second output terminal, wherein lengths of the first microstrip and the second microstrip are related to a first frequency, and lengths of the third microstrip and the fourth microstrip are related to a second frequency.

Splitter

A temperature compensating device for providing active bias for an amplifier includes a voltage source, a plurality of loads, and a current generator for generating a current for the amplifier according to voltages provided by the voltage source and the plurality of loads, wherein a first load of the plurality of loads is a thermistor utilized for keeping the current within a specified range under a plurality of ambient temperatures.

Temperature compensating device and satellite signal receiving system

A band converter consists of a band-pass filter, a band-stop filter, a first power distributor, a local oscillator, a mixer, a switch circuit, a high-pass filter, a second power distributor, and a low-pass filter. The band-pass filter and the band-stop filter respectively filter a down-converted input signal to generate a first filtered signal and a second filtered signal. The first power distributor is coupled to the band-stop filter. The mixer is coupled to the first power distributor and the local oscillator. The switch circuit is coupled to the first power distributor and the mixer. The high-pass filter is coupled to the switch circuit. The second power distributor is coupled to the band-pass filter and the high-pass filter. The low-pass filter is coupled to the second power distributor.

Band converter and satellite television system thereof

An expandable wireless transceiver is provided. The expandable wireless transceiver includes an antenna, a receiver, a transmitter and a switch connector. The antenna detects an electromagnetic signal in surrounding space and receives a signal with a first central frequency according to the detection result. The receiver receives the signal based on the detection result of the antenna. The transmitter outputs a radio-frequency signal. A third connection terminal of the switch connector provides a connective path to an expansion antenna. According to the coupling condition of the third connection terminal, the switch connector delivers the radio-frequency signal to its second connection terminal or third connection terminal. Thus, the radio-frequency signal with a second central frequency is transmitted to surrounding space through the antenna or the expansion antenna, wherein the second central frequency and the first central frequency are both in a specific band.

Expandable wireless transceiver

A current detector with variable output voltage level. The current detector includes an operational amplifier, an adjusting circuit, a load circuit for detecting current running therethrough, and a clamping circuit. The operational amplifier includes a non-inverting input, an inverting input, and an output. The operational amplifier is connected to an antenna power supply and ground. The adjusting circuit is coupled to the inverting input. The load circuit has one end is coupled to the antenna power supply, and the other end coupled to the non-inverting input. The other end of the load circuit is also a detecting node. The non-inverting input is a detecting node. The clamping circuit, coupled to the output of the operational amplifier, clamps the output voltage level of the operational amplifier to a predetermined range. When the detecting node floats, the output voltage level of the clamping circuit is at logic high.

Current detector with variable output voltage level

A wireless communication system includes an antenna, a receiving module, a power source, and a power control hub. The power control hub includes an amplifier having a first end coupled to the receiving module and a second end coupled to the power source. The amplifier generates a first output signal based on a control signal of the receiving module. The power control hub includes a rectifier having a first end coupled to the output end of the amplifier and a second end coupled to the power source. The rectifier generates a second output signal based on the first output signal. The power control hub also includes a switch. A first and a second end of the switch are electrically connected or disconnected based on the second output signal received at a control end of the switch.

Wireless communication system using a single trace for transmitting signals

An active UHF amplifier includes a transistor having a base for receiving signals, a grounded emitter, and a collector for outputting signals, a first inductor having a first end for coupling to a voltage source, the inductance of the first inductor being between 10-100 nano-Henries, a first capacitor having a first end coupled to the first end of the first inductor, a second inductor having a second end coupled to the base of the transistor, the inductance of the second inductor being between 1-100 nano-Henries, a second capacitor having a first end coupled to a first end of the second inductor, the capacitances of the first and the second capacitor being between 10 pico-Farads and 100 nano-Farads, a first resistor, and a second resistor having a resistance divided by the resistance of the first resistor and multiplied by a voltage of the voltage source being between 0.5-0.8 volts.

UHF active antenna amplifier for digital video broadcast (DVB) receiver and related DVB device

A wireless transmission device capable of transmitting media from different channels concurrently. The transmitter of the device places the inputted TV signals and an audio/video signal on different segments of a frequency spectrum, combines the signals of all segments into one combined signal, and transmits the combined signal as a radio frequency signal so as to transmit signals from different channels at the same time. Meanwhile, a controller in the receiver of the device selects a needed channel signal from the received radio frequency signal according to a selection signal. Therefore with one A/V transmitter and multiple A/V receivers, multiple-channel media transmission and multiple-channel media reception is achieved.
