A battery device comprises a case, a core pack, a signal unit and a non-volatile memory, wherein the core pack, the signal unit and the non-volatile memory are disposed in the case. The case has a first transmission terminal and a second transmission terminal. The signal unit is electrically connected to the core pack and the first transmission terminal, and is configured to output a voltage signal associated with the state of the core pack through the first transmission terminal. The non-volatile memory is electrically connected to the second transmission terminal, and is configured to receive and store information associate with the core pack through the second transmission terminal.

Battery device and battery management system

A battery system, a control method of a cell balance procedure and a calculation method of a balance charge capacity are provided. The battery system includes a plurality of battery units, a communication bus and a host control unit. Each battery unit includes a plurality of cells, an isolated charger, a switch array circuit, a balance slave switch and a balance slave controller. The host control unit includes a balance host controller, a balance host switch and a system current measurement unit. When the error between a balance detection voltage calculated by each balance slave controller and the balance detection voltage calculated by the balance host controller is less than a predetermined value, the balance host switch and the corresponding balance slave switches are in conduction and the specified plurality cells of battery system are charged for keeping cell balance purpose.

Battery system, control method of cell balance procedure, and calculation method of balance charge capacity

A battery module includes a housing, at least one cell stack inside the housing, a tightening assembly and a thermal conductive element. The tightening assembly includes first and second plugin members. The first plugin member has a first stopping portion and a first bolt portion connected with the first stopping portion, and the first bolt portion is tapered from the first stopping portion. The second plugin member has a second stopping portion and a second bolt portion connected with the second stopping portion, and the second bolt portion is tapered from the second stopping portion. The first and second plugin members are detachably inserted into the battery module from two opposing sides of the cell stack. The thermal conductive element tightens the cell stack to the housing.

Battery module

The disclosure provides a battery busbar including a conductive sheet, at least two bridge portions and at least two terminal contact portions. The conductive sheet has at least one cavity portion. Each of the at least two bridge portions has a first end and a second end which are opposite to each other, and the first ends of the bridge portions are respectively connected to different sides of the at least one cavity portion. The terminal contact portions are spaced apart from each other and are respectively connected to the second ends of the bridge portions. A width direction is defined to be substantially perpendicular to a line passing through the first end and the second end of one of the at least two bridge portions; along the width direction, a width of the bridge portion is smaller than a width of the terminal contact portion.

Battery busbar

A fireproof battery module including a plurality of battery cells and at least one fireproof layer. The battery cells are electrically connected to one another. The at least one fireproof layer is located between two of the plurality of battery cells that are adjacent to each other. The fireproof layer includes a heat absorbing part and a heat insulation part that are connected to each other. The heat absorbing part includes a vaporizable material and a thermal conductivity of the heat insulation part is lower than a thermal conductivity of the heat absorbing part.

Fireproof battery module and fireproof layer

A battery safety identifying method is provided. The method includes the following steps. A voltage drop and a voltage drop rate are detected when a battery is abnormal. A duration time of the voltage drop and a voltage recovery ratio are detected when the battery is abnormal. A surface temperature or a temperature rise rate is detected when the battery is abnormal. A plurality of hazard levels of battery abnormality and at least one protection mechanism are set according to the voltage drop, the voltage drop rate, the voltage recovery ratio and the surface temperature or the temperature rise rate.

Battery safety identifying method and method for setting hazard levels of battery internal short circuit and warning system using the same

A battery system includes a unit battery module, a current and coulomb measurement circuit and a master control circuit. The unit battery module stores electricity and calculates battery information of the battery set according to a system current value, a system coulomb value, a cell voltage and a cell temperature of the battery set. The current and coulomb measurement circuit is coupled to the unit battery module, generates the system current value according to the current flowing though the battery set, generates the system coulomb value by integrating the system current value, and provides the system current value and the system coulomb value to the unit battery module. The master control circuit is coupled to the unit battery module, receives the battery information from the unit battery module, generates a system battery information according to the battery information and provides the system battery information to an external device.

Battery management system and battery system using the same

A battery management system is provided, which may include a power supply module, a measurement module, a switch module and a processing module. The power supply module may be electrically coupled to a load or a charging power source via the switch module. The measurement module may measure a plurality of operation signals from the power supply module. The processing module may determine the operation status of the power supply module by cross comparison between the operation signals, and activate a safety protection item according to the operations signals and the operation status; the processing module may determine to activate a global protection process to turn off the switch module or activate a local protection process to turn off the switch module after a buffer time according to the danger level of the safety protection item.

Battery management system and method thereof

A charging method for a rechargeable battery and a related charging architecture are provided. The provided charging method includes following steps. A characteristic curve of the rechargeable battery related to charge cycle vs. a residual capacity of a non-constant voltage charging stage under a warranty life limitation is provided. An expected residual capacity corresponding to a condition when a terminal voltage of the rechargeable battery reaches a limited charge voltage is found from the characteristic curve related to the charge cycle vs. the residual capacity of the non-constant voltage charging stage by using a current charge cycle count of the rechargeable battery. A real residual capacity corresponding to a condition when the terminal voltage of the rechargeable battery reaches the limited charge voltage approaches to the expected residual capacity by adjusting a charging current of the rechargeable battery.

Charging method for a rechargeable battery and charging architecture therewith

A method for estimating battery degradation is provided. In this method, a remaining capacity is obtained by looking up a device characteristic table according to a steady open circuit voltage of a battery. Besides, a constant current is provided to charge the battery, and when a terminal voltage of the battery reaches to a charging preset voltage, a constant voltage is provided to charge the battery. The transition point information at the transition from a constant current mode to a constant voltage mode, which includes a transition point estimated open circuit voltage, a transition point voltage, a transition point current and a transition point battery temperature, is analyzed based on voltage, current, temperature and capacity information measured during the charging process. A battery degradation index is calculated from the transition point information.

Method for estimating battery degradation

A battery pack and a method for controlling charge-and-discharge of the battery pack by its thermoelectric property are provided, in which the battery pack has a plurality of thermal regions divided by different ranges of temperature. The battery pack includes a plurality of parallel-connected battery groups and a plurality of variable resistances. The parallel-connected battery groups are located in the thermal regions respectively, and each of the parallel-connected battery groups includes batteries connected in parallel. The variable resistances are disposed between two parallel-connected battery groups.

Battery pack and method of controlling charge-and-discharge of battery pack by its thermoelectric property

A method for estimating a capacity of a battery includes providing a look-up table storing data relating to a voltage and a capacity of the battery, and initializing the battery to reach an initialization state which serves as a starting point for a discharging process. The method also includes discharging the battery, from the initialization state, by a first amount of charge to reach a first state, calculating an actual capacity of the battery based on a measured amount of charge discharged from the initialization state to the first state, measuring an open-circuit voltage at the first state, obtaining a look-up capacity of the battery from the look-up table according to the open-circuit voltage measured at the first state, calculating a difference between the actual capacity and the look-up capacity, and correcting the look-up table based on the difference.

Method and system for estimating a capacity of a battery

A method for checking and modulating battery capacity and power based on charging/discharging characteristics is provided. In terms of discharge, a relationship between an open circuit voltage and an output electric capacity of a battery is measured to obtain a first characteristic curve. A relationship between a voltage and the output electric capacity of a battery at a predetermined maximum charge/discharge current rate is measured to obtain a second characteristic curve. A characteristic boundary line passing the first and the second characteristic points respectively selected from the first and the second characteristic curves is established. A voltage value corresponding to the first characteristic point is higher than a voltage value corresponding to the second characteristic point. The first and the second characteristic curves, and the characteristic boundary line define an operation range. The battery is charged/discharged within the operation range.

Method for checking and modulating battery capacity and power based on discharging/charging characteristics

A characteristic tracking method for a battery module including at least one battery is disclosed. A look-up table is provided according to a primary characteristic of the battery. It is determined whether a battery has satisfied a preset condition when the battery module is operated from a usage state to an idling state. The battery is measured to have obtained a first voltage and a real capacity when the battery satisfies the preset condition. The measured first voltage is utilized to locate a table capacity of the battery from the look-up table. The look-up table is updated according to the real capacity and the table capacity. A peripheral circuit of characteristic tracking method has been exhibited.

Characteristic tracking method and circuit for a battery module

A charging method for a rechargeable battery is disclosed. A preset power is provided to the rechargeable battery when the rechargeable battery is connected to a charger for execution of a first charge process. A use state of the rechargeable battery is obtained. A first adjustable charge power is provided to the rechargeable battery when the rechargeable battery is reconnected to the charger for execution of a second charge process.
