A seal arrangement for a liner hanger, including a seal ring, a lock ring adjacent the seal ring, the lock ring including a body configured to limit radial compression of the seal ring, a wing extending from the body in an axial direction of the body, and a shoulder defined by the body, the shoulder complementary to a lock member. A method for assembling a seal arrangement, including positioning a lock ring on a tubular, positioning a seal ring on the tubular, repeating the positioning of a lock ring and the positioning of the seal ring until a selected number of lock rings and seal rings are alternatingly disposed on the tubular, and feeding a lock wire through a lock wire window to engage the tubular and the lock ring to retain the lock ring axially to the tubular.

Backup ring with control line protection, systems, and methods

A tool for expanding a liner in a wellbore includes a cone assembly that is moveable between a retracted position and an extended position. The tool also includes a jack assembly that is operable by fluid pressure to move the cone assembly from the retracted position to the extended position. The fluid pressure is also applied to expansion cup seals to generate axial load that urges the cone assembly to move through the expandable liner and radially expand of the expandable liner. A latch assembly axially fixes the liner while the cone assembly moves to the extended position. Once the cone assembly is fully moved to the extended position, the latch assembly releases the liner, allowing the cone assembly to move through the liner and radially expand the liner.

Method and apparatus for expanding wellbore casing

A method of performing an annular cementing operation after setting an integrated hanger and seal includes introducing a tubular including a flow passage having an inlet and an outlet into a wellbore, positioning and setting the integrated hanger and seal in the tubular, flowing cement between the tubular and the integrated hanger and seal into the inlet of the flow passage, passing the cement through the flow passage to the outlet, flowing the cement from the outlet, and closing the outlet.

A tool for use in a wellbore includes a first tubular having an outer surface and an inner surface defining a first conduit. The inner surface includes a dog engagement zone. A second tubular includes an outer surface portion and an inner surface portion defining a second conduit. The second tubular extends into the first conduit and including a dog opening having a dog support. A dog is arranged in the dog opening. The dog includes an outer surface contour that engages with the dog engagement zone and an inner surface including a recess that engages with the one or more dog supports. The dog is moveably retained between the first tubular and the second tubular.

Method and apparatus for preventing premature set of liner top packer

A system for subterranean deployment in a wellbore includes an expandable tubular having an outer surface supporting at least one anchor slip and an inner surface including a running tool engagement element, and a running tool for deploying the expandable tubular into the wellbore. The running tool includes an inner surface portion defining a passage and an outer surface portion supporting a forcing cone for expanding at least a portion of the expandable tubular, and a tubular support system selectively engaging with the running tool engagement element.

An expansion system is assembled by coupling a piston assembly and a solid cone assembly to an adjustable cone assembly within an expandable tubular having inner sleeve disposed in a portion thereof. The expansion system is run into a wellbore. The piston assembly is activated to move the solid cone assembly downward through the inner sleeve so as to expand the inner sleeve and the portion of the expandable tubular having the inner sleeve. The adjustable cone assembly is shifted from a retracted position to an expansion position within the inner sleeve. The adjustable cone assembly is moved upward through expandable tubular while leaving the solid cone assembly and the inner sleeve coupled to expandable tubular. The solid cone assembly and the inner sleeve may be drilled or milled.

Expandable drillable shoe

An expandable tubular having a receptacle at its lower end is installed in a wellbore. An axial force is generated on a solid cone assembly to push the solid cone assembly. The solid cone assembly includes a cone body formed from a drillable material, the cone body having an expansion surface, a first expansion profile formed in a first portion of the expansion surface, and a second expansion profile formed in a second portion of the expansion surface. The second expansion profile includes one or more facets. The facets of the second expansion profile engage the receptacle, providing a rotational lock to the cone body. After expansion of the expandable tubular, the cone body may be drilled or milled.

An expandable liner hanger features carbide or other hard particles adhered to the outer surface of a tubular mandrel that is expanded using vulcanized rubber to retain the carbide during run in or set. The rubber can be directly applied to the outer surface of the mandrel or to a split ring that is subsequently secured to the outer surface of the mandrel. The rubber can also be mounted in an exterior recess to protect the carbide during running in from being knocked off with impact. A binder can be applied to the carbide or to the rubber for better fixation of the carbide when vulcanizing the rubber. The rubber moves with the expanding mandrel while binding the carbide until contact of the carbide to the surrounding tubular transfers the liner string weight to the surrounding tubular through the carbide.

A tubular has an exterior sealing element disposed in a recess. A swage passes through the tubular to increase its drift dimension from a location above the seal to below the seal. The interior projection that initially defined the exterior wall recess where the seal is located is expanded to the new drift dimension of the balance of the tubular. Extending members that are initially embedded in the seal while extending from the tubular wall that defines the recess move out during the expansion to engage the surrounding tubular to act as extrusion barriers and to aid in the fixation of the seal while being able to penetrate the wall of the surrounding tubular in so doing.
