A microdebrider comprising: (a) a handpiece; (b) an interchangeable tip connected to the handpiece; (c) an outer tune rotatably connected to the interchangeable tip, the outer tube including an outer tube window; (d) an inner tube extending at least partially through the outer tube, the inner tube including an inner tube window; (e) a lock selector connected to the inner tube; and (f) a bias device; wherein the bias device is movable, and upon movement of the bias device into contact with the lock selector the inner tube is immobilized so that the inner tube window is aligned with the outer tube window, aligned with a wall of the outer tube, or in a condition therebetween.

Blade positioning device

An antenna system and method is provided for communicating with a medical device implanted in a patient. Upper and lower shells join to form an antenna tunnel there between. At least one of the upper or lower shells includes an opening along an edge thereof to form a passage to the antenna tunnel. The upper shell includes an outer patient engaging surface configured to abut against the patient. An antenna assembly includes a substrate and an inductive RF antenna provided on the substrate. The antenna assembly is movable within the antenna tunnel. The substrate includes a stem projecting through the passage. A handle is joined to the stem and is located outside of the antenna tunnel. The antenna assembly is movable within the antenna tunnel in response to adjustment of the handle relative to the upper and lower shells. An electronics circuit is electrically coupled to the antenna and is configured to transmit and receive inductive RF signals to and from the medical device implanted in a patient.

Adjustable antenna system to communicate with an implantable medical device and method for using same

A surgical instrument has a hollow tubular member, and a pressurization unit that has an outer valve portion, a pressurization device having a movable part configured to generate pressurized fluid when the movable part is moved, and an inner valve portion. The inner valve portion includes a first flow passage that is configured to fluidically connect a first port and a second port of the outer valve portion to each other when the inner valve portion is in a first position, and a second flow passage that is configured between the inner valve portion and the outer valve portion to fluidically connect the first port and a third port when the inner valve portion is in a second position. A sealing system fluidically isolates the second port and the third port from each other at any position of the inner valve portion. Pressurized fluid from the pressurization device causes the inner valve portion to move from the first position to the second position, thereby providing positive pressure to the hollow tubular member.
