The present disclosure generally relates to a method of manufacturing a spiral sheet product via an additive manufacturing process, the method comprising: obtaining an electronic file representing a geometry of the spiral sheet product; and controlling an additive manufacturing apparatus to manufacture, via the additive manufacturing process, the spiral sheet product according to the geometry specified in the electronic file. The geometry of the spiral sheet product comprises: a geometric model of a spiral body revolving around a longitudinal axis, the spiral body comprising spiral sections repeating along the longitudinal axis; each spiral section comprising unit cells repeating along a spiral length of the spiral section; and each unit cell comprising a geometric pattern, such that the repetitive geometric pattern functionalizes the spiral sheet product that is arrangeable into a flat sheet product that is larger than a build chamber of the additive manufacturing apparatus.

A hopper for powder bed fusion additive manufacturing, the hopper comprising: a recoater having a volume for holding powder metal therein; the recoater having a dispensing opening for depositing therethrough powder metal from the volume, a divider dividing the volume into a first compartment and a second compartment and dividing the dispensing opening into a first opening portion and a second opening portion; and a first roller arranged in parallel with a second roller, the first roller provided at the first opening portion and the second roller provided at the second opening portion, a longitudinal axis of the first roller being perpendicular to direction of movement of the hopper during powder metal deposition; wherein rotation of the first roller and rotation of the second roller dispenses a first powder metal and a second powder metal from the first compartment and the second compartment respectively through the first opening portion and the second opening portion respectively, and wherein the first roller and the second roller are configured to rotate selectably and independently of each other.

Hopper for powder bed fusion additive manufacturing

A spacer for a membrane module, the spacer comprising: a plurality of first filaments defining a plurality of fluid flow channels, in use the plurality of fluid flow channels being adjacent a membrane of the membrane module; and a plurality of second filaments provided on the plurality of first filaments and extending into the fluid flow channels, the second filaments moveable relative to the first filaments in response to an external stimulus during flow of fluid in the fluid flow channels.

Spacer for a membrane module

A method for preparing a patterned substrate is provided. The method includes melt-spinning at least one biocompatible polymer to form fibers; collecting the fibers on a substrate such that the fibers are aligned on the substrate; and applying a binding agent to the aligned fibers to bond the fibers into the aligned arrangement to obtain the patterned substrate in form of an aligned fiber mat. Use of the patterned substrate in an implant for tissue engineering is also provided.
