The second connectorhas an inner housingand an outer housingthat covers the outer peripheries of the inner housingforming a gap Sfor insertion of the first connectortherebetween. A receiving cavity Sis provided for insertion of the mating sensing memberand inside which is provided a pair of first stopper projections, a second stopper projectionsand an elastically deformable locking armfront end of which is a free extremity. The locking armis provides at the front end portionwith a pushing portionand a first stopperon each of the two sides. The mating sensing memberhas a pair of elastically deformable first and second fingerspositioned opposing each other in parallel and they have an actuation portionand a stopper engaging portion.

Electric connector

An electrical connector includes a first connector part that has a male housing with an engaging portion formed on the outer periphery thereof; a second connector partthat has a female housingprovided with a portion defining a cavity for receiving the male housing; a sensorthat senses the mated state of the first and second parts; and a lockthat locks the first and second parts in the mated state at a regular mating position. The lockis made of a clip member made of a spring wire-like body and has first latch portionsA,A and a second latch portionA. The sensoris made of a sliding sensing member having a sensing armmade of a resilient piece provided with an engaging portion' that latches into the second latch portionA.

Electrical connector

An electric connector includes a connector bodyhaving contacts, and a connector housing. The connector housinghas a cavity, for housing the connector body, and an operation lever. The connector bodyis inserted into the cavity, and the electric connector is engaged with another connector by rotating the operation lever. The connector housinghas a sensing memberon one of its sidewalls. The sensing memberresiliently changes its shape according to insertion conditions of the connector body, either rising from the sidewall or flat on the sidewall. The sensing memberdetects the insertion conditions of the connector bodyin the cavity. The operation leverhits the sensing memberwhen the sensing member rises from the sidewall, and rotation of the operation leveris blocked. With this configuration, connection between the connector bodyhaving the contacts and the connector housingthat houses the connector bodyis properly made. Thus, the electric connector having improved reliability and safety in the connection with the other connector is provided.

The electrical connectoraccording to one embodiment of the present invention includes a male connectorhaving a male housingwith a first latch part, a female connectorhaving a female housing with an inserting hole, and a connector position assurance (CPA). The first latch parthas first and second latch protrusions P, P, and the female connectorhas an elastic latch armwith a latch pawl at a leading edge part of the female connector. The CPAincludes a first finger piecehaving a first bent protrusion D, second finger pieceseach having a second bent protrusion D, and a spring-force-accumulated part. The first and second finger pieces of the CPAare attached between the elastic latch arm and one inner wall surface. While the two connectorsare fitted, the male connector slides the CPA backward. When the two connectors have entered into a regular fitted state, the spring-force-accumulated part makes the second latch protrusion Platch onto the latch pawl to connect the two connectors. Accordingly, an electrical connector including a fitted state detecting member to lock a pair of its connectors automatically during the fitting process of the connectors and ensure the fitting of the connectors can be provided.
