Embodiments of this invention disclose new second generation uric acid-sensing electrodes at least characterized by chemically bonding both uricase and the redox mediator to an electrode. The produced electrodes can be long-term stably used without losing activity. The developed electrode has been successfully applied for the analysis of uric acid (UA) in healthy human urine specimens which exhibits very good analysis accuracy and precision without too much interference. Therefore, the developed electrodes have the potential for clinical applications.

Electrode for uric acid and method of producing the same

This invention discloses systems and methods for determining the sequence of amino acids in a short peptide chain that constructs a protein. The protein is firstly hydrolyzed to various short peptides and amino acid enantiomers. Then, the systems and method are used to separate the short peptides and the amino acid enantiomers, identify qualitatively each of the amino acid enantiomers, and obtain the molecular mass signal for each of the peptides. After that, the identified amino acid enantiomers are used to construct any possible short peptides in an order from the smallest molecular weight dipeptide to higher molecular weight short peptides, and the correct short peptides is confirmed by matching the molecular weight obtained from the mass spectrometry measurement, then, the short peptides are combined to give a large peptide. The process is continued until the whole amino acid sequence of the peptide chain of protein can be determined.

The present invention discloses an enzyme electrode and its producing method, which comprises: providing a substrate with a carbon surface; forming a gold surface on the carbon surface and thus forming an electrode; covalently bonding a mediator containing an aldehyde group to the electrode; and covalently bonding a glucose oxidase to the electrode.

An enzyme electrode and its producing method are disclosed. The method includes providing a substrate having a carbon surface; forming a gold surface on the carbon surface and forming an electrode; modifying the gold surface by L-cysteine; modifying the gold surface by N,N'-dicyclohexylcarbodiimide; and chemically bonding the modified gold surface with a glucose oxidase.
