An optical module includes a housing and a release mechanism. The housing includes an outer lateral surface. The release mechanism includes an arm and a releasing component. The arm is disposed on the outer lateral surface and movable relative to the housing. The releasing component is disposed on the outer lateral surface and includes a pivot, a releasing portion and a pressed portion. The pivot is between the releasing portion and the pressed portion. The pivot is disposed on the housing. The arm pushes the pressed portion to pivot the releasing component. At an idle state of the release mechanism, a movement of the housing is restricted by an interference between a flexible counterpart of a cage and the housing. At a releasing state of the release mechanism, the releasing portion deforms the flexible counterpart, thereby removing the interference between the flexible counterpart and the housing.

An optical transceiver includes a housing, a fastening component and a latch. The fastening component is disposed on the housing. The fastening component is movable with respect to the housing in a releasing direction from an electrical port of the optical transceiver toward a fiber optic port of the optical transceiver. The latch is movably disposed on the housing to be at either an unlocking position or a locking position. The fastening component is allowed to be moved with respect to the housing in the releasing direction when the latch is at the unlocking position, and a movement of the fastening component in the releasing direction is confined by the latch when the latch is at the locking position.

The main body includes two lateral surfaces and an outer surface between the two lateral surfaces, and the outer surface defines a confined groove. The elastic component is disposed in the confined groove. The fastening component is movably disposed on the main body. The fastening component includes a linkage arm, two extending arms and a confined portion. The linkage arm is disposed on the outer surface of the main body, and the two extending arms are connected with the linkage arm. An optical transceiver includes a housing, a fastening component, a bail and an optical connector. The fastening component is movably disposed on the housing and configured to be detachably fastened with the cage. The bail includes a first connecting portion and a second connecting portion. The first connecting portion is pivoted with respect to the fastening component at a first pivot joint, and the second connecting portion is pivoted with respect to the fastening component at a second pivot joint. The optical connector is disposed in the housing and located between the first pivot joint and the second pivot joint.

The present disclosure discloses a high speed optical module having a PCBA component and a passive optical element. The PCBA component includes a receiver and a transmitter. The transmitter includes an amplifier chip and a photodiode array connected to pins of the amplifier chip. The transmitter includes a laser driving chip and a base. Multiple lasers are arranged side by side in the base. The lasers are connected to the laser driving chip. A plurality of fiber interfaces are arranged on output light paths corresponding to the plurality of lasers. The passive optical element includes ferrules corresponding to the plurality of fiber interfaces, and the ferrules are correspondingly inserted into the plurality of fiber interfaces in a one-to-one relationship. The passive optical element is inserted into the PCBA component by fiber interfaces arranged on the PCBA component.

High speed optical transceiver module

A coaxial transmitter optical subassembly (TOSA) including a ball lens may be used in an optical transceiver for transmitting an optical signal at a channel wavelength. The coaxial TOSA includes a laser package with a ball lens holder section defining a lens holder cavity that receives the ball lens. The lens holder cavity is dimensioned such that the ball lens is positioned in substantial alignment with the laser diode for optically coupling a laser output from the laser diode into an optical waveguide at an optical coupling end of the TOSA. The coaxial TOSA is thus configured to allow the less expensive ball lens to be used in a relatively small package when a lower coupling efficiency and power is desired and without substantial redesign of the TOSA.
