A communication network for use in mobile communications may include at least one mobile device configured to communicate with a corresponding host through the communication network. The communication network may also include a packet data gateway configured to detect an attachment of the mobile device roaming into a wireless local area network controlled by the packet data gateway. Further, the communication network may include a mobility server coupled to the packet data gateway to establish a call session between the mobile device and the corresponding host.

Method and apparatus for mobility management in communication networks

Communication devices and methods are proposed for providing communication channel. In one example, devices and methods are capable of reaching one or more terminals that are not in a public network. In addition, depending on the network or the networks that the terminals are located, some examples may be capable of establishing a less indirect or a direct communication channel between two terminals after they communicate through an intermediate system. In another example, a triggering packet may be sent to provide a binding at an interface of a private network, such as an NAT, thereby reducing or eliminating communication through a relay server.

Disclosed is an apparatus and method for presence service on inter-domain. The apparatus comprises an enhanced inter-domain presence (EIP) module and an enhanced inter-domain presence authorization document (EIPAD) module. When at least a watcher requests a presence subscription to a foreign domain, the EIP module dynamically aggregates the foreign domain presentities for all local watchers having the subscription request, and produces a foreign domain document (FDD). The EIP module also acts as a presence client having the subscription for foreign-domain, and dispatches presence status information. The enhanced inter-domain presence authorization document module resolves the FDD contents, identifies the subscribed foreign-domain presentities, then accesses a corresponding presence authorization document and notifies it to the presence server on the watcher domain.
