A user grouping method for inter-cell interference coordination technology in mobile telecommunication systems using the handover information and measured data that were defined in existing mobile telecommunication systems to group cell users into cell center users and cell edge users. This method includes: (1) user equipment measuring the average signal strength of the serving cell and neighboring cells; (2) user equipment determining if it should reply with the average signal strength information it measures and if it should initiate the inter-cell interference coordination measuring and response system; (3) serving cell then groups the user equipment as cell center user or cell edge user according to the average signal strength information reported by the user equipment; (4) serving cell allocates a frequency subchannel from cell center subband or cell edge subband according to the grouping result.

User grouping method for inter-cell interference coordination in mobile telecommunication

A method for restraining inter-cell interference in a mobile communication system is provided. The method uses the fast dynamic selection of the Fractional Frequency Reuse (FFR) technology and the Macro Diversity (MD) technology of the cell edge to increase the cell edge user data rate and provide excellent system capacity. The method is particularly suitable in a OFDMA mobile communication system downlink. The method comprises the steps of: (a) determining whether the cell edge user is able to operate the MD technology; (b) processing the fast dynamic selection of the FFR technology and the MD technology for the cell edge user, and the selection is made based on a instantaneous link Signal Quality Index (SQI); and (c) allocating the center subband or the edge subband to the cell edge user according to the selection.

Method for restraining inter-cell interference in a mobile communication system

The present invention discloses a method for finding an optimized filter parameters design to meet input specifications and hardware constraints in accordance with a typical single channel digital IF programmable downconverter. Said typical single channel digital IF programmable downconverter comprises four stages, including a high speed down-sampling stage, a spectral shaping stage, a rate matching stage and an oversampling stage. According to input specifications, said method firstly determines a number of Halfband interpolation filters used in said oversampling stage, secondly obtains optimized parameters for a CIC decimation filter and a Halfband decimation filter in said high speed down-sampling stage, using as many Halfband decimation filters as possible. Then determine if it is necessary to use re-sampling FIR filter for rate matching. Finally, use various function window to design programmable FIR filter for spectral shaping, obtains an overall synthesized spectral response which meets input specifications.
