A method for providing an improved user navigation interface for an industrial control system. The system includes a computer and a display device and a computer implemented workplace application. The system also includes a plurality of process control interfaces displayed on the display device. The process control interfaces include one or more software objects for controlling and/or monitoring objects controlled by the control system. The method includes displaying in the user interface a set of the process control interfaces generated by one instance of the workplace application in a designated view that includes a corresponding set of graphic user interface objects. Each graphic user interface object identifies and, on selection, displays the corresponding the process control interface. By selecting a first or second graphic user interface objects, a user can switch between a display of a first process control interface and a display of the second process control interface provided by the same instance of the workplace application. A graphic user interface, a system and a computer program for carrying out the method are also described.

Method for loading and displaying different process displays on a user interface of an industrial control system

A computer implemented method to display an industrial installation, which display may also display information about an event or an alarm in the installation. The method includes displaying an image which appears to the viewer to be a three dimensional holographic image including a view of the industrial installation. The image may also include one or more points in three dimensional space and which point or points are each mapped to a corresponding point or position in the industrial installation. A pointing device for actively indicating position on the image reflecting objects or positions in the installation is also described.

A graphical representation is generated of the stored waypoint and the point being pointed out. A view is displayed including the object and the graphical representation. Method and a system for programming an industrial robot

A method and a system for use in connection with off-line programming of an industrial robot. The robot is taught a path having a number of waypoints located on or in the vicinity of at least one object to be processed by the robot. The system includes a tracking system unit adapted to provide information about the position of a part of the body of an operator pointing by the part at points on or in the vicinity of the object, a visual feed-back unit generating a visual feed-back to the operator of the position of the point being presently pointed at by the part of the body, in relation to the object, and a storage unit adapted for storing the position of the part of the body as a waypoint upon receiving a recording command.

A method and a system for use in connection with programming of an industrial robot. The method includes obtaining configuration data for the tool and for the robot path and information about the position and orientation of the object in relation to the robot, obtaining a sequence of waypoints, which defines the process in relation to the object, obtaining at least one distance for adjusting the position of a waypoint, deciding whether an obtained waypoint should be modified or not, based on the obtained information about the waypoints, generating a modified sequence of waypoints by modifying the waypoints in the obtained sequence of waypoints, based on the decision, the obtained distance and the obtained information about the waypoints and generating the actual robot path based on the modified sequence of waypoints and the obtained configuration data.
