The present disclosure relates to a sanitary article such as a sanitary napkin, a panty liner, a diaper or an incontinence pad, including a liquid permeable topsheet, a backsheet, an absorbent core enclosed between the topsheet and the backsheet, and a fibrous layer positioned between the topsheet and the absorbent core. The topsheet includes a coating having a) an oil composition and b) one or more surface active agent(s) including a non-ionic surfactant, wherein the weight ratio of the oil composition and the surface active agent(s) is at least 1:1, and wherein the oil composition is present in an amount of at least 0.3 g/mof the topsheet and wherein the fibrous layer is an oil protecting layer consisting essentially of non-absorbent fibers.

An absorbent article, the absorbent article being a personal hygiene article, includes a liquid permeable top sheet, a liquid impermeable back sheet, an absorbent core enclosed between the top sheet and the back sheet, and a fluid flow control member arranged between the top sheet and the backsheet. The fluid flow control member is a spacer fabric including a top layer, a bottom layer and an interconnecting layer of pile filaments between the top layer and the bottom layer. The spacer fabric has a ratio of thickness to basis weight at 15 kPa of at least 1.5&#xb7;10m/gsm, as measured according to the Mecano-method disclosed herein.

The fluid flow control member is a spacer fabric having a basis weight of 150-300 gsm and including a top layer, a bottom layer and an interconnecting layer of pile filaments between the top layer and the bottom layer. The pile filaments have a fineness of 80-130 dtex and the density of pile filament connections is 50-150/cm.

Active additives in absorbent articles, such as sanitary napkins, panty liners, tampons, incontinence protectors and diapers have been found to lose their properties due to taking-up moisture during storage and transportation for instance, when conventional packaging materials are used. The invention relates to the use of a moisture impervious film material for packaging an absorbent article comprising one or more active moisture-sensitive additives. Packaging is effected in film material that has low vapor and gas permeability and in packaging unites that have tight joins or seams.

A panty liner which includes active additives, such as lactobacilli. The liner includes a liquid-permeable top sheet which lies proximal to the wearer in use, a liquid-impermeable backing sheet which lies distal from the wearer in use, possibly an intermediate absorbent layer, and possibly fastener means. The panty liner is manufactured in a manner such that the active additives, preferably lactobacillus, are given a sufficiently effective and dry environment to ensure a healthy survival rate of the additives until the product is used.

An absorbent article such as a sanitary napkin, a panty liner or an incontinence pad, which is intended to be substantially accommodated within a user's panties and comprising an upper absorbent part (2) and a lower absorbent part (3), whereby the upper absorbent part (2) forms a raised portion (26) projecting from the lower absorbent part (3) and has a lesser extension in the transverse direction of the article than the lower absorbent part (3). A porous liquid acquisition layer (28) is arranged between the two absorbent parts (2,3) and has a density which is less than the density in both the upper absorbent part (2) and the lower absorbent part (3).
