A french door refrigerator seal having vertically extending seal elements on the juxtaposed edges of the french doors defining an air space therebetween. Closure seals are provided at the upper and lower ends of the edge seals to close the air space and thereby define an insulative dead air space between the french door edge portions when the doors are in the closed position. The closure seals illustratively may be formed as overlapping flexible flaps carried by the vertical edge seal elements which illustratively may form pairs of flexible flaps.

French door refrigerator seal

A door assembly having first and second pivotally mounted doors defining juxtaposed portions in a closed arrangement thereof. A seal structure is provided for sealing the juxtaposed edges of the doors in the closed arrangement. The seal structure defines inner and outer seals cooperatively forming a large closed air space therebetween. The seals may include overlapping sealing portions which may have magnetized structures therein for effecting a positive seal. The seals may include relatively stiff or rigid mounting portions secured to rearwardly projecting dikes on the doors and effectively defining opposed projections of the dikes extending a substantial portion of the distance between the dikes. The seals may include flexible sealing portions at the distal ends of the rigid mounting portions.

Door seal assembly

A method of forming an insulated cabinet wall structure wherein a body of insulation is foamed in situ against an outer face of a liner sheet strip to define a laminate. A plurality of holes are formed in the laminate extending through the liner and into the insulation, and a plurality of supports are installed on the laminate by insertion of a mounting portion thereof in the mounting holes. The laminate with the supports secured thereto is subsequently formed into a preselected cabinet configuration to define a chamber with the supports projecting inwardly from the liner into the chamber. This structure may then be inserted into a formed outer cabinet.

Method of forming refrigerator liner and shelf supports

A liner and insulation structure for a refrigeration apparatus is particularly adapted for use where the bottom wall of the refrigeration apparatus cabinet defines an irregular, nonflat surface. A separate bottom liner and insulating member is formed so as to overlie the irregular cabinet bottom wall and includes an upstanding wall portion about at least a portion of its periphery. The remainder of the liner and insulation structure for the refrigeration apparatus is formed by variously cutting and folding a laminate which includes an inner sheet liner portion and an outer insulation portion so as to define an upright wall having a lower edge portion which rests on the upstanding wall portion of the bottom liner and insulating member.

Liner and insulation structure for refrigeration apparatus

A refrigeration apparatus enclosure structure wherein an inner laminate wall portion of the enclosure defines the inner sheet liner and insulation disposed within an outer cabinet portion of the enclosure and is secured to a portion of the cabinet wall with the sheet liner portion maintained spaced from the cabinet wall to provide thermal insulation therebetween. The laminate wall is secured to the cabinet by insulative support means extending through openings in the insulation to the sheet liner and means are provided for securing the sheet liner to the inner end of the insulative supports. The insulating supports may further support other elements within the enclosure inwardly of the sheet liner. In one form, the insulating support may be held in position in the laminate wall insulation by an outer plate having inturned tabs extending into the insulation and insulating support. The plate may be held in place by a securing element so as to be in facial abutment with the rear surface of the laminate wall insulation and provide a distribution of forces from the support over a substantial area of the insulation outer surface.

Refrigeration apparatus enclosure structure

A projectile having a first plurality of flechettes arranged to be disper during the flight of the projectile by an explosive removal of a surrounding portion of the projectile casing and a second plurality of flechettes adapted to be subsequently dispersed by a movement thereof forwardly through a rear portion of the casing of the projectile and subsequent lateral displacement therefrom.

A refrigeration apparatus enclosure structure wherein an inner laminate wall portion of the enclosure defines the inner sheet liner and insulation disposed within an outer cabinet portion of the enclosure and is secured to a portion of the cabinet wall with the sheet liner portion maintained spaced from the cabinet wall to provide thermal insulation therebetween. The laminate wall is secured to the cabinet by insulative support means extending through openings in the insulation to the sheet liner and means are provided for securing the sheet liner to the inner end of the insulative supports. The insulating supports may further support other elements within the enclosure inwardly of the sheet liner.
