One example of a device includes a low voltage direct current (LVDC) bus and a high voltage direct current (HVDC) to LVDC converter to receive HVDC power from an enclosure and provide main LVDC power. The device includes a circuit to pass the main LVDC power to the LVDC bus while the main LVDC power is within regulation limits and to pass backup LVDC power from the enclosure to the LVDC bus in response to the main LVDC power falling outside the regulation limits.

One example of a system includes a DC powered monitoring device and a battery backup power supply. The DC powered monitoring device is to monitor the status of an information technology (IT) enclosure environmental infrastructure. The monitoring device is to receive main DC power and backup DC power. The monitoring device is to operate using the backup DC power in response to a loss of the main DC power. The battery backup power supply is to provide the backup DC power to the monitoring device.

In one implementation, a system for a redundant power extender includes a first automatic transfer switch comprising a number of in-ports coupled to a first power distribution unit and a second power distribution unit, wherein the first automatic transfer switch comprises an out-port coupled to a first side of a device and a second automatic transfer switch comprising a number of in-ports coupled to the first distribution unit and the second power distribution unit, wherein the second automatic transfer switch comprises an out-port coupled to a second side of the device with intelligence to allow 4+4 power redundancy from a system otherwise limited to 3+3 power redundancy.

Circuit boards for an electronic device are described. In one implementation, the circuit board includes at least two holes at two locations on the circuit board. Each of the at least two holes has a conductive contact coupled to a voltage source through a resistor. The circuit board includes a microcontroller programmed to measure voltages at conductive contacts of the at least two holes, and determine a position of the circuit board, when positioned on a conductive chassis of the electronic device, based on the measured voltages. The position of the circuit board may be one of a first end and a second end, and in between the first end and the second end, of the conductive chassis.

One example method includes storing first time series data that identifies, on a per power distribution unit (PDU) basis, current drawn from a set of PDUs. A technique for remotely configuring a computing device via a network. A device configuration system is provided to determine a network address of the computing device, to identify the computing device, and to facilitate network configuration of the computing device. The device configuration system also may include a remote interface and a remote device information system.

A method and apparatus for automatically monitoring Simple Network Manageable Devices. A processor accesses a memory storage device to retrieve a device definition file and an interface definition file associated with each interface referenced in the device definition file. The processor creates a Device-Type-Specific Formula-Monitor Definitions (DTSFMD) data structure based on information contained within the device definition file and the interface definition files and stores the DTSFMD data structure in the storage device. The processor accesses a communication network to retrieve information used to identify the types of devices and associated interfaces located within the communication network. Based on the retrieved information, the devices are identified as a router, a switch, a repeater or a device for which no monitoring is to occur. Based on the retrieved information and requirements established in the DTSFMD, the processor determines which interfaces are to be monitored and how they are to be monitored and automatically performs monitoring to generate data for graphical displays and the setting and clearing alarms.
