An airbag system includes a VTOL aircraft fuselage having an airbag compartment defined within the fuselage. A protective cover defines a portion of the exterior surface of the fuselage. The protective cover encloses at least a portion of the airbag compartment. An airbag is folded within the airbag compartment secured to a point on the fuselage. A method for deploying an airbag in an aircraft includes sending a signal to a gas generator to inflate at least one airbag secured within an airbag compartment within a fuselage of an aircraft. The method includes jettisoning off a protective cover from the airbag compartment. The method includes inflating the airbag with the gas generator to extend outside of the airbag compartment to attenuate forces and cushion the aircraft upon ground impact.

Airbag systems

A position sensor system for a landing gear assembly includes a cylinder operatively coupled to an aircraft. Also included is a piston configured to translate within the cylinder. Further included is a pattern disposed on an outer surface of the piston. Yet further included is a scanner operatively coupled to the cylinder and positioned to optically detect the pattern during translation of the piston. Also included is a microprocessor in operative communication with the scanner and configured to receive data from the scanner for conversion to a quantity of movement of the piston relative to the cylinder.

Position sensor system for a landing gear assembly and method of monitoring

Embodiments of the disclosure are directed to obtaining, by a device, data associated with an aircraft, processing, by the device, the data, determining, by the device, that the aircraft is likely to impact an object with a probability greater than a threshold within a second threshold amount of time based on the processed data, and causing, by the device, a change in an orientation of the aircraft based on the determination.

Hard landing detection and orientation control

A system facilitating the use of multiple sewing machines mounted on a sewing cabinet is disclosed. A circular turntable on which multiple sewing machines are mounted can be activated either manually or with an electric motor to rotate a desired sewing implement to the working position. The cabinet is designed for maximum storage space in a minimum of wall space. Different models provide up to five drawers and eight shelve as well as a drop leaf for increased table area. The system has surge protected outlets with an on/off switch and an electric cord that can be plugged into any household outlet.
