A block fitting for connecting components in a vehicular refrigeration system includes male and female blocks defining aligned bores that provide fluid communication between the assembled blocks. A primary seal member is disposed between the blocks in fluid tight relation. A separate secondary seal member spaced from the primary seal member is provided between the blocks. The seal members are pre-assembled onto one of the blocks to form a pre-assembled sub-assembly. In one form, the primary seal member is retained on the block by a polymeric guide ring.

Block fitting and seal structure

An underbody assembly for a vehicular climate control system is disclosed including fluid flow conduits formed of steel coated with polymeric material such as nylon 12. The conduits are continuous between opposite ends free of joints or flexible connection. In one form, the conduit includes branches or connectors formed of polymeric material sealed to the outer polymeric layer of the tube.

Vehicular climate control system

A tube-to-hose coupling includes an elongated hollow insert connected between an end of the tube and defining an insert receiving portion and the end of the hose defining an insert receiving portion. The insert is disposed in the insert receiving portion of the tube end and the insert receiving portion of the hose end in fluid tight sealing relation. Thermoplastic polymeric material is bonded between the insert and the hose during insertion of the insert into the bore of the hose. The tube is connected to the insert and the hose by plastic deformation. In one embodiment the polymeric material is a layer defining the internal bore of the hose. In another, the polymeric material defines an outer layer on the insert.

Tube to hose coupling

A fitting assembly for fluid and vapor connection comprising a first tube, a second tube and a thin strip of polymeric material. A male member is formed at the end of the first tube. A hollow female body is formed at end of the second tube. The male member is received in the female body. The strip of polymeric material has a layer of adhesive applied to one surface of the strip. The strip is bonded to the male member and unbonded to the female body. The strip is compressed between the male member and the female body.

Fitting assembly for fluid and vapor connection

A mid-line coupling comprising a first tube and a second tube. The first tube includes a male member formed of the first tube and an upset formed a given distance from the end of the first tube. The second tube includes a female body formed of the second tube. The male member is insertable into the female body until the terminal end of the female body abuts the upset of the first tube.

Mid-line coupling

This invention relates to a co-tube assembly for a heating and air conditioning system. The co-tube assembly comprises a connector an inner tube and an outer tube. The connector including a first opening, a second opening and a third opening. The inner tube extends through the first opening and the second opening of the connector. The inner tube has a first portion axially outwardly of the first opening of the connector and a second portion axially outwardly of the second opening of the connector. The outer tube is disposed over the first portion of said inner tube and inserted into said first opening of the connector.

Co-tube assembly for heating and air conditioning system

A fitting assembly for fluid and vapor connection comprising a first tube, a second tube and a ring. The first tube has a male member at the end of the first tube and a radially enlarged upset formed at a distance from the end of the first tube. The second tube has a hollow female body formed at the end of the second tube. The male member is received in the female body. The ring surrounds the female body. The ring has an axial bore with an innermost diameter smaller than the outermost diameter of the female body for deforming the female body radially inward. The innermost diameter of the axial bore is smaller than at least a portion of the upset of the first tube.
