An alloy, adapted for use as a conductor for electrical resistors, consisting essentially of 30-45 wt. % Ni, 30-34 wt. % Cr, 25-35 wt. % Al and an effective amount of a corrosion inhibitor and stabilizer selected from the group consisting of transition metal elements and rare earth elements.

Nichrome resistive element and method of making same

A resistive element consisting of a metal film, or metal film substitute, comprised of nickel and chromium and which may include aluminum. To this element is added a member of the group consisting essentially of a rare earth element and a transitional element.

An electrical resistor and method of making the same is disclosed wherein a ceramic substrate is coated with a relatively rough dielectric film which is subsequently coated with a thin metal film such as nichrome.
