This invention relates to a novel synthetic porous crystalline molecular sieve material, MCM-65, to a reaction mixture and method for its preparation, and to use of the MCM-65 in catalytic conversion of organic compounds. The crystalline material exhibits a distinctive X-ray diffraction pattern as shown in Table 1.

A process for catalytic cracking of a hydrocarbon feedstock comprises contacting the feedstock with a catalyst composition comprising a primary cracking component, such as zeolite Y, and a mesoporous aluminophosphate material which includes a solid aluminophosphate composition modified with at least one element selected from zirconium, cerium, lanthanum, manganese, cobalt, zinc, and vanadium. The mesoporous aluminophosphate material has a specific surface area of at least 100 m /g, an average pore size less than or equal to 100 &angst;, and a pore size distribution such that at least 50% of the pores have a pore diameter less than 100 &angst;.

Catalytic cracking process using a modified mesoporous aluminophosphate material

A mesoporous aluminophosphate material includes a solid aluminophosphate composition modified with at least one element selected from zirconium, cerium, lanthanum, manganese, cobalt, zinc, and vanadium. This mesoporous aluminophosphate material has a specific surface area of at least 100 m /g, an average pore size less than or equal to 100 &angst;, and a pore size distribution such that at least 50% of the pores have a pore diameter less than 100 &angst;. The material can be used as a support for a catalytic cracking catalyst. Additionally, a method for making such a mesoporous aluminophosphate material is disclosed. The method, which preferably avoids use of organic reagents or solvents, includes providing an aqueous solution containing an inorganic phosphorus component; an inorganic aluminum containing component; and an inorganic modifying component containing at least one element selected from zirconium, cerium, lanthanum, manganese, cobalt, zinc, and vanadium. A solid mesoporous aluminophosphate material is formed in the solution by adjusting the pH of the solution to the range of 7 to 12 and is then recovered.

Thermally stable, high surface area, modified mesoporous aluminophosphate material

This invention relates to a new synthetic porous crystalline material, designated MCM-67, a method for its preparation and use thereof in catalytic conversion of organic compounds. MCM-67 appears to be closely related in structure to VPI-8 and SSZ-41 but is synthesized without zinc and in the presence of manganese and/or cobalt ions.

There is provided a method for preparing an acidic solid oxide having a reduced particle density, where the acidic solid oxide comprises a Group IVB metal oxide modified with an anion or oxyanion of a Group VIB metal. An example of this acidic solid oxide is zirconia modified with tungstate. The acidic solid oxide having a reduced particle density is prepared by coprecipitating the Group IVB metal oxide along with the anion or oxyanion of the Group VIB metal in the presence of a salt. This acidic solid oxide is particularly effective as a paraffin isomerization catalyst.

Hydroprocessing catalyst

A layered composition of matter, MCM-56, has an X-ray diffraction pattern including lines at d-spacing values of 12.4.+-.0.2, 9.9.+-.0.3, 6.9.+-.0.1, 6.2.+-.0.1, 3.55.+-.0.07 and 3.42.+-.0.07 Angstroms and has been selectively modified so that the ratio of the number of active acid sites at its external surface to the number of internal active acid sites is greater than that of the unmodified material.
