Marine propellers with compression spring sleeve assemblies for driving engagement by a propeller drive shaft may include a propeller hub having an axis of rotation. A compression spring sleeve assembly may be disposed in the propeller hub. The compression spring sleeve assembly may include a drive core comprising a drive core wall. At least one drive rib may extend from the drive core wall. A shaft bore may be formed by the drive core wall. The shaft bore may be sized and configured to receive the propeller drive shaft for driving rotational engagement by the propeller drive shaft. A drive sleeve may be drivingly engaged for rotation by the drive core and drivingly engage the propeller hub for rotation. The drive sleeve may have a drive sleeve body. At least one axial deformation element may have at least one deformation passageway in the drive sleeve body of the drive sleeve. The axial deformation element or elements may be oriented substantially parallel to the axis of rotation of the propeller hub and substantially encased by the drive sleeve body.

Dual propeller assemblies for driving engagement by a propeller drive shaft may include at least two propellers having a forward propeller and a rear propeller rearwardly of the forward propeller. The forward propeller may include a forward propeller hub with a forward propeller hub wall having a forward propeller hub outer diameter. A forward propeller hub bore may be formed by the forward propeller hub wall and configured to receive the propeller drive shaft for driving engagement of the forward propeller hub thereby. The forward propeller hub bore may form a passageway for flow of exhaust gas configured to traverse the forward propeller between the propeller drive shaft and the forward propeller hub wall. The rear propeller may include a rear propeller hub with a rear propeller hub wall having a rear propeller hub outer diameter less than the forward propeller hub outer diameter of the forward propeller hub wall of the forward propeller hub. A rear propeller hub bore may be formed by the rear propeller hub wall. The rear propeller hub bore may be configured to receive the propeller drive shaft for driving engagement of the rear propeller hub thereby. The passageway for flow of exhaust gas may be configured to traverse the rear propeller hub wall exterior to the rear propeller hub bore of the rear propeller hub.

Dual propeller assemblies and methods

Apertured propeller assemblies may include at least one propeller. The at least one propeller may include a propeller hub having a propeller hub wall. A propeller hub bore may be formed by the propeller hub wall. A plurality of propeller blades may extend from the propeller hub wall. At least one propeller service aperture may extend radially through the propeller hub wall in communication with the propeller hub bore. The at least one propeller service aperture may facilitate dual prop configurations, exhaust flare ring attachments and/or other modifications to the at least one propeller. Other propeller assemblies and apertured propeller methods are also disclosed.

Marine propellers for coupling to a propeller drive shaft may include a propeller hub. A plurality of propeller blades may extend from the propeller hub. A shearable drive assembly may include a drive core. The drive core may include a drive core wall configured to be drivingly engaged by the propeller drive shaft. At least one drive rib may extend from the drive core wall. At least one shear cavity may be provided in the at least one drive rib. A drive sleeve may be drivingly engaged for rotation by the drive core and configured to drivingly engage the propeller hub of the marine propeller for rotation. The drive sleeve may have at least one rib slot receiving the at least one drive rib of the drive core. Other marine propellers with shearable drive assemblies are also disclosed.

Damper assemblies suitable for coupling a drive to an output may include a hub for coupling to the output. The hub may include a hub drive sleeve. A drive adaptor may be configured for coupling to the drive. The drive adaptor may include an adaptor shaft disposed in the hub drive sleeve of the hub. At least one continuous circumferential damper member may encircle the adaptor shaft of the drive adaptor. The at least one circumferential damper member may be drivingly engaged by the adaptor shaft of the drive adaptor and drivingly engage the hub drive sleeve of the hub. At least one deformation space may be disposed adjacent to the at least one continuous circumferential damper member. The at least one deformation space may at least partially coincide in circumference with the at least one circumferential damper member. Marine propellers having damper assemblies are also disclosed.

Apparatuses for measuring parameters of an object may include an apparatus frame. A rotary table assembly may include a rotary table having a diameter or width and carried by the apparatus frame. The rotary table may be configured to support the object for rotation. A rotary table motor may operably engage the rotary table for rotation. A carriage rail may be carried by the apparatus frame. The carriage rail may be disposed in fixed position relative to the rotary table. A sensor carriage may be carried by and configured to traverse the carriage rail. A carriage drive motor may engage the sensor carriage. The carriage drive motor may be operable to displace the sensor carriage along the carriage rail. At least one displacement sensor may be carried by the sensor carriage. The displacement sensor may have a displacement sensor travel path which passes over and traverses the diameter or width of the rotary table as the sensor carriage traverses the carriage rail. The displacement sensor may be configured to measure distances between the displacement sensor and surfaces on the object. Alternative embodiments of the apparatuses are also disclosed.

Apparatuses and methods for measuring parameters of an object

A progressive shear assembly includes a hub configured for coupling to the output, the hub including a hub drive sleeve and at least one torque transfer lug on the hub drive sleeve. A drive adaptor may be configured for coupling to the drive. The drive adaptor may include an adaptor shaft disposed in the hub drive sleeve of the hub. The adaptor shaft may have an aft shaft end and a fore shaft end and tapering from the aft shaft end to the fore shaft end. At least one adaptor lug may be provided on the adaptor shaft. The at least one adaptor lug may have a substantially non-uniform width from the aft shaft end to the fore shaft end of the adaptor shaft. A tensile spring may be formed by selected ones of a plurality of substantially incompressible shear members and a plurality of substantially compressible compression members disposed adjacent to the adaptor shaft between the at least one adaptor lug and the at least one torque transfer lug. The at least one adaptor lug on the adaptor shaft of the drive adaptor may pre-load the selected ones of a plurality of substantially incompressible shear members and a plurality of substantially compressible compression members in conical compression. Shear assembly sleeves deployable between a propeller adaptor shaft of a drive adaptor and a propeller hub drive sleeve of a propeller hub are also disclosed.

A switch and methods for its use are disclosed. The switch includes input and output circuitry for receiving and forwarding data packets to computing devices connected to the network. The switch also includes a memory configured to store a number of tables relating the ports to the physical addresses of computing devices connected to the switch. The switch is capable of correctly forwarding data packets which specify false identity parameters. The switch is also capable of dynamic forwarding used to forward data packets across many paths to the destination. The switch is also capable of forwarding data packets to one of a number of output ports based on a comparison of at least one of the identity parameters that specifies false information to a table stored in memory.

A method and apparatus for processing data messages in a dynamic computer network is disclosed. The method includes implementing a mission plan specifying a message type, a message generation location, and a message distance vector for false messages, receiving a data message that includes a plurality of identity parameters, and determining a message type and a message distance vector for the received message. A progressive shear assembly which is suitably adapted for connecting a marine propeller to a propeller drive shaft in such a manner that a selected resilience and torsional resistance of the propeller with respect to the drive shaft is achieved. An adaptor shaft provided on the propeller drive shaft drivingly engages the propeller through multiple sets of shear rods each having a selected composition and resilience. In the event that the rotating propeller inadvertently strikes an underwater object, the shear rods absorb the torque shock. Accordingly, the shear rods tend to deform and shear to prevent damage to the propeller and propeller drive train components, and can be easily and inexpensively replaced.
