A method, device, and computer program product for determining quality of a wireless network, includes: connecting, by a mobile device, to one or more access points of the wireless network in a physical environment; capturing, via a camera of the mobile device, a live rendering of the physical environment; generating, by the mobile device, a rendering of the physical environment; detecting, via the mobile device, a signal quality of the connection to each of the one or more access points; storing, in memory of the mobile device, each current position and a plurality of previous positions of the mobile device in the physical environment in association with the detected signal quality; and generating, in a processor of the mobile device, a virtual path graphic by linking the current positions and the plurality of previous positions of the mobile device in the physical environment.

A method and system for remotely controlling an external device includes storing, in a computing device, a plurality of device profiles, each device profile including connection data, one or more control commands, and at least one associated image; receiving, by an imaging device interfaced with the computing device, a live rendering of a physical environment; detecting, by the computing device, a registered image in the live rendering of the physical environment; identifying, in the computing device, a specific device profile where the at least one associated image includes the detected registered image; establishing, by the computing device, a communication channel with an external device using the connection data included in the identified specific device profile; and electronically transmitting, by the computing device, at least one of the one or more control commands included in the identified specific device profile to the external device using the established communication channel.

System and method of IOT device control using augmented reality

An exemplary device can process can generated an augmented reality display of a Wi-Fi coverage map. A mobile device can connect to one or more access points of a wireless network in a physical environment. A camera of the mobile device can be used to capture a live rendering of the physical environment. The mobile device can capture and store current and previous positions in the physical environment. The mobile device can generate a virtual path graphic by linking the current positions and the plurality of previous positions of the mobile device in the physical environment. The augmented reality display is generated by overlaying the virtual path graphic onto the live rendering of the physical environment. The augmented reality interface is output to a display of the mobile device.

A method for displaying a network map retrieves state information for a plurality of network devices in communication with a network. The network devices include infrastructure devices and terminal devices. A topology map is generated based on the retrieved state information. A visual image of the topology map is caused to be displayed on a display screen. The visual image includes a first plurality of distinct content items arranged as a first rotatable carousel presented in a perspective view. The first rotatable carousel is configured to be scrolled in response to user input. At least some of the distinct content items are each associated with one of the terminal devices and present information describing the terminal device with which it is associated. The visual image also includes a second plurality of distinct content items which are each associated with one of the infrastructure devices.

Thus, the methods, systems, and computer readable media described herein provide for a quick generation of a layout without the need to draw detailed floor plans of a premise. An interface showing the layout of network elements within a subscriber premise may include an identification of the quality of wireless performance at each network element. A user may interface with, and monitor the network elements through the user interface displaying the spatial representation of the various network elements.
