Technologies disclosed herein can be used to provide power and data to an implantable device implanted in a recipient, such as when the recipient is not wearing an external device. An example system includes a pillow or other headrest configured as a power and data source for an implanted medical device. Disclosed technologies can be configured to continuously provide power and data to an implantable medical devices over a period of time, such as substantially the entire period of time where the recipient is resting their head on the pillow.

External system for implanted medical devices

An apparatus is provided which includes a plurality of conduits and a plurality of valves in fluidic communication with the plurality of conduits. The plurality of conduits is configured to receive liquid from at least one liquid reservoir configured to be implanted on or within a recipient. Each conduit of the plurality of conduits has a corresponding flow resistance to the liquid. The plurality of valves is configured to controllably allow flow of the liquid through a selected set of the conduits to be administered internally to the recipient with a selected flow rate.

Selectable drug delivery rate device

A monolithic implantable medical device component includes multiple portions on a single substrate. The portions can be electrically connected to an electronics module, which may include output connectors and input connectors to and from the various portions of the substrate. A portion of the monolithic component to be disposed within, attached to, embedded in, or otherwise combined with a magnet retention feature, such as a plate.

Monolithic component for an implantable medical device

Medical devices allow for the complete removal of a portion of an implantable component that contains a magnet. Such structure allows a recipient to undergo MRI procedures without interference from the implanted magnet. The magnet can also be contained within a larger, non-magnetic chassis that acts as an enlarged lever arm having a greater torque resistance against the generated magnetic forces.
