The invention relates to a commercially viable modular ceramic oxygen transport membrane system for utilizing heat generated in reactively-driven oxygen transport membrane tubes to generate steam, heat process fluid and/or provide energy to carry out endothermic chemical reactions. The system provides for improved thermal coupling of oxygen transport membrane tubes to steam generation tubes or process heater tubes or reactor tubes for efficient and effective radiant heat transfer.

Ceramic oxygen transport membrane array reactor and reforming method

The invention relates to a commercially viable modular ceramic oxygen transport membrane reforming reactor configured using repeating assemblies of oxygen transport membrane tubes and catalytic reforming reactors.

A commercially viable modular ceramic oxygen transport membrane reforming reactor for producing a synthesis gas that improves the thermal coupling of reactively-driven oxygen transport membrane tubes and catalyst reforming tubes required to efficiently and effectively produce synthesis gas.

A method and apparatus for producing heat used in a synthesis gas production process is provided. The disclosed method and apparatus include a plurality of tubular oxygen transport membrane elements adapted to separate oxygen from an oxygen containing stream contacting the retentate side of the membrane elements. The permeated oxygen is combusted with a hydrogen containing synthesis gas stream contacting the permeate side of the tubular oxygen transport membrane elements thereby generating a reaction product stream and radiant heat. The present method and apparatus also includes at least one catalytic reactor containing a catalyst to promote the steam reforming reaction wherein the catalytic reactor is surrounded by the plurality of tubular oxygen transport membrane elements. The view factor between the catalytic reactor and the plurality of tubular oxygen transport membrane elements radiating heat to the catalytic reactor is greater than or equal to 0.5.

Oxygen transport membrane system and method for transferring heat to catalytic/process reactors

A method and apparatus for producing a synthesis gas product having one or more oxygen transport membrane elements thermally coupled to one or more catalytic reactors such that heat generated from the oxygen transport membrane element supplies endothermic heating requirements for steam methane reforming reactions occurring within the catalytic reactor through radiation and convention heat transfer. A hydrogen containing stream containing no more than 20 percent methane is combusted within the oxygen transport membrane element to produce the heat and a heated combustion product stream. The heated combustion product stream is combined with a reactant stream to form a combined stream that is subjected to the reforming within the catalytic reactor. The apparatus may include modules in which tubular membrane elements surround a central reactor tube.

Synthesis gas method and apparatus

The present teachings relate to solid oxide fuel cell systems featuring a novel design that provides improved thermal management of the system. The solid oxide fuel cell systems disclosed include gas channeling features that regulate the temperature of local areas of the system and protect thermal-sensitive current collection elements.

Wellhead apparatus is shown to comprise a casing hanger releasably latched to a running tool for lowering, landing and locking within the bore of a housing so as to suspend an inner casing which is suspended from the hanger within an outer casing string to which the housing is connected. The hanger includes a mandrel carrying a lock ring for locking in a recess in the housing bore, and a seal sleeve is carried by the mandrel for movement between an upper position to permit cement to be circulated through a space between the mandrel and a lower position closing the space. The tool includes a body carrying a latch ring which is held within a groove in the bore of the mandrel as the hanger is lowered and locked within the housing bore, and which may be actuated to lower the sleeve into sealed position and release the latch ring for retrieval of the tool, from the hanger within the well bore.

Wellhead apparatus

A Power Distribution Center (PDC) for a motor vehicle distributes power through relays and fuses to connectors for distribution of power throughout the motor vehicle. The PDC includes a housing/connector plate, a printed circuit board, a leadframe assembly, an insulator, a B+ buss bar, an alignment plate and a cover. The PDC utilizes the B+ Buss bar assembly for receiving power into the PDC. The leadframe assembly is utilized to distribute power within the PDC to particular circuits. The printed circuit board is employed to distribute power and signals within the PDC. Terminal clips are used to interconnect between the PDC and associated relays and fuses. The PDC is configured to allow simple addition of electronic modules by providing an interface as part of the PDC, thereby allowing modules to be added to the network without requiring a separate wiring harness for each module.

Power distribution center

A pneumatic or hydraulic pressure sensitive safety switch circuit which transmits an impulse from a sensor to a distant electrical switch, via an operating fluid, to activate the electrical switch. The electrical switch may be a disabling switch for a dangerous machine from which sensed objects are to be protected. Check valves located in the conduits communicating between the sensors and the actuators for the electric switch allow the disabling switch to be quickly actuated, but prevent re-entry of the operating fluid into the sensor means to deactuate the disabling switch until a short time interval has elapsed. The safety switch thus is quickly actuated and slowly deactuated.

Pressure sensitive machine safety switch

A motor brake control system for use on a motor having a motor brake retarder and a throttle fuel control is designed to respond to manual selection for sequentially retarding the selected cylinders in the motor. A transducer for sensing the speed of the motor is provided for generating a series of output pulses which access a high RPM detector and a low RPM detector. In the event that the motor exceeds a predetermined high RPM value, the brake control system activates all of the retarders to fully brake the motor. In the event that the brake retarders are on, either fully or partially, and the motor drops below a predetermined low RPM value, the brake retarders are released. Provision is made to prevent retardation of the motor as long as the throttle of the motor is being activated and retardation is further prevented after deactivation of the throttle until the fuel in the fuel delivery system has been consumed. An emergency override, in the event that the brake control system fails or malfunctions, is provided so that the brake retarders can be manually activated.

Motor brake control system for controlling motor runaway

An abrading belt runs on rolls one of which is on a yoke. A cylinder of a fluid actuator is fastened to the yoke and opposite sides of a piston in the cylinder are sequentially pressurized to cause the yoke to angulate back and forth for shifting the belt between lateral limits. A fluidic logic oscillator circuit is controlled by lateral limit sensors to switch the cylinder pressures. A lead screw couples the piston to a nominally fixed threaded element and a splined shaft connects the piston to a reversible motor. A time interval is initiated when the belt changes directions and if it expires before the next lateral limit is reached a signal is developed which causes the motor to shift the piston to thereby change the rocking angle of the yoke in one direction so the lateral travel times of the belt will become equal.

Automatic equalizer for abrasive belt
