Aggregation of content based on user-generated topics is provided. Users may associate one or more topics with content items stored across various workloads and repositories. A topic may be a word or phrase of the user's choice, and may be utilized for discoverability of information and aggregation of content items. Topics and content items associated with topics may be acted on (e.g., a user may add or delete topics to associate with a content item, associate or disassociate content items with a topic, embed a set of content items or a stream of content items associated with a topic into other experiences, follow topics, etc.). Content items identified as related to a specific topic may be automatically suggested as possible content items of interest to the user. Additionally, when a user follows a topic, the user may be notified of any changes that occur to the topic.

Aggregating enterprise graph content around user-generated topics

A set of user interfaces is provided to an administrator of a website. The user interfaces enable the administrator to configure search functionality of the website to present different types of search results differently. For instance, the administrator can use the user interfaces to configure the search functionality to present different properties for search results belonging to different result types.

A client device presents a resource to a user. In order to present the resource, the client device generates and renders one or more presentation strings. The client device generates a presentation string by identifying a template module that corresponds to an content resource object in a dataset downloaded by the client device. The client device then performs a template execution operation on the content resource object. The template module corresponding to the content resource object specifies the template execution operation.

Embodiments are provided that include interactive electronic list features and functionality, but are not so limited. In an embodiment, a method is configured to enable users to directly manipulate list content and/or structure in context. A delivery confirmation is provided to the sender of an e-mail message. When the e-mail message is composed, a link, such as a hyperlink, is inserted into the e-mail message, such as in the body or header. The link can include information such as a message identifier and identifiers of the sender and the recipient, which are provided as a query string of the link, while a host field of the link includes the address of an e-mail/web server. When the recipient receives the e-mail message and opens it, the link is displayed along with text that instructs the user to use the link to confirm delivery. The confirmation can include displaying indicia for the e-mail message in a folder view on an interface of the sender, or sending a confirmation e-mail message to the sender, for instance. Voting by e-mail can also be provided.

The application allows responding to an email using an instant message, replying to an instant message using an email, sending and receiving both email and instant messages from one application, sending email attachments instantly, and displaying presence information for the user, user email contacts and user messenger contacts. Alerts are provided for both emails and instant messages received. The inbox views can automatically be refreshed when a user receives new email. An interface is provided to convert multiple email contacts into messenger contacts. The system can be used with both local messenger clients and browser based IM clients.
