The present invention provides systems and methods for monitoring tissue regions. In particular, the present invention provides systems and methods for detecting changes in tissue regions over a period of time. In some embodiments, the systems and methods of the present invention are used to evaluate the effectiveness of a particular treatment of a tissue region. In some embodiments, the systems and methods of the present invention provide a parametric response map approach for detecting and analyzing changes in tissue regions over a period of time to detect and monitor disease or tissue health and to monitor the impact of therapeutic interventions.

Systems and methods for imaging changes in tissue

The present invention provides systems and methods for monitoring tissue regions. In particular, the present invention provides systems and methods for detecting changes in tissue regions over a period of time. In some embodiments, the systems and methods of the present invention are used to evaluate the effectiveness of a particular treatment of a tissue region. In some embodiments, the systems and methods employ functional diffusion map algorithms for imaging changes in tissue regions over time and/or in response to therapeutic interventions.

Systems and methods for tissue imaging

A method determines alignment of images in high dimensional feature space. The method comprises registering a source image of a reference modality to a target image of a second modality with an algorithm based upon a measure of information affinity present in both of the source and target image to create a registered image. Next, a plurality of feature vector are extracted from the registered image for each of the source and target images and attributes of the joint distribution of feature vector are captured using an entropic graph spanning the features. Edge lengths are between proximal feature vectors are extracted from the entropic graph and a similarity measure of one of an &#x3b1;-divergence estimate or an &#x3b1;-affinity estimate is constructed based upon these edge lengths to quantify whether the source and target image are sufficiently registered.

Method of determining alignment of images in high dimensional feature space

An ultrasonic imaging system acquires echo signals from an object being imaged such as a moving coronary artery and the cross-correlation between echo signals is employed as an objective measure of relative object location. The method is used in a prescan procedure to determine an optimal gating window to acquire image data during a cardiac gated scan, and it is used during the scan as a real time gating signal.

A pulverizer device for liquid handling systems which chops solid and semi-solid materials in the liquid to prevent plugging of and damage to pumps and other equipment in the system. The pulverizer device includes a housing having an inlet opening and a discharge opening and a screen disposed in the housing. A blade operates on the inlet side of the screen to chop material which initially will not pass through the screen. It is preferred that the blade be operated by a hydraulic motor, and that the housing have a sump with a clean-out on the side of the housing near the blade and screen for removing unpulverizable materials from the housing.
