A safety feature prevents a two wheeled electric paper lift from raising a paper tray on uneven ground that includes a tilt switch positioned in parallel with an upper limit switch that controls the height in a vertical direction of the paper tray. When a tilt angle of the paper lift is greater than 5&#xb0; the tilt switch will prevent the paper tray from being raised and thereby prevent the load on the paper tray from shifting or tipping over and causing injury to an operator.

Safety mechanism for a paper stack cart system

This invention provides a looped item or device attached to a document cover of a xerographic copier so that a wheelchair occupant can pull the document cover down over the platen glass. Better copies are obtained when the cover is down and the automatic document feeder is not accessible until the document cover is down over the platen glass. This invention provides a simple but effective way for a wheelchair occupant to easily use the automatic document feeder even when a previous user of the copier leaves the document cover up away from the platen glass. The loop provided in the looped item (lanyard or handle) is important to this invention.

This is a stacking tray especially useful in a paper marking system. When papers containing an ID or credit card attached are stacked, an uneven stack results where the card portion is thicker than the paper without the card. This presents a difficult situation for moving the stack onto a transport to a printer or other stations. To correct this uneven or thicker stack from hindering paper feed, two paper plate supports are provided, one a vertically movable plate and the other a fixed plate support. The ID card or credit card portion of the paper is always loaded onto the vertically movable plate thereby providing a substantially flat top stack for easy movement of the sheets from the stack.

The method may include determining if a media stacker device has been removed from a finishing module during a print job, wherein if it is determined that the media stacker device has been removed from the finishing module during a print job, moving one or more media path selection devices to enable the printed media to be stacked onto a media stacking tray, determining if the media stacker device has been returned to the finishing module, wherein if it is determined that the media stacker device has been returned to the finishing module, moving the one or more media path selection devices to enable the printed media to be stacked onto the media stacker device.

A low cost locking device for securing special forms in paper trays when a printer is unattended that can be easily be field installed without screws or other fasteners or tools includes a bracket tray lock, a tray lock plate assembly and a padlock that cooperate to prevent the paper trays from being removed from the printer without a key for the padlock.

This is a lifting mechanism especially suited to move a stack of paper to a height so that it is easier to remove or work with. The lifting mechanism has as a bottom portion a tilting platform that receives and holds a paper stack and its support. This tilting platform will be tilted in a front down position prior to and during loading of the paper stack thereon, and will automatically tilt down at its back portion when stack loaded. This is because the fulcrum of the tilting platform is located nearer the front sections of the platform than it is to the back section of the platform. When the weight of the paper stack acts upon the tilting platform, it will force the platform down at its back portion.

This is a stacker cart useful to collect a paper stack in a paper-handling system. The stacker cart has wheels so that it can be moved into and out of a housing in the system. At a top section of the stacker cart is a slidable plate that receives the paper stack after processing, finishing or marking. This slidable plate has on its lower surface sliders that allow easy moving of the slidable plate off the stacker cart. The slidable plate has at least one hook that is connected to a rope or other remover for moving the slidable plate to a second surface.

This is a stacker cart useful to collect a paper stack in a paper-handling system. The stacker cart has movables so that it can be moved into and out of a housing in the system. At a top section of the stacker cart is a transfer plate that receives the paper stack after processing, finishing, or marking. This transfer plate and the stacker cart have on their lower surface movables that allow both easy moving of the slidable plate off the stacker cart and easy moving of the stacker cart from one location to another. The transfer plate has at least one hook that is connected to a rope or for moving the transfer plate to a second surface. The movables used in both the transfer plate and the stacker cart can be wheels, slides, or bearings.

A simple and cost effective method of simplifying and speeding heat exhaust plenum attachment and detachment from a machine that uses metal for exterior covers and air output grills includes placing magnetic sheeting around that portion of the plenum that mates with the back of the machine and allowing the magnetic force of the sheeting to attach the plenum to the machine. The plenum can easily be detached from the machine by overcoming the magnetic force of the sheeting.

A releasable deck mount used to tie printers to the deck of vessels includes a metal plate for welding to the vessel's deck that incorporates a profile of a clip that is connected to a strap and inserted into the deck mount for capture purposes. The plate is very low and minimizes any tripping hazard. A spring plate is attached to the top of the metal plate and a pin is secured to the spring plate and extends through a hole in the metal plate. The pin is designed to be movable and has a chamfer to allow insertion of the strapping clip. The clip is released from the deck mount by lifting the pin to allow the clip to be removed.

Stacker carts for stacking media, printing apparatuses, and methods of stacking media on stacker carts are disclosed. An embodiment of the stacker carts includes a stacking surface including a first end and an opposite second end, the stacking surface sloping downwardly from the first end toward the second end; and a resiliently-biased stop at the second end of the stacking surface, the stop including at least one contact surface defining a height of the stop above the second end of the stacking surface. When the contact surface is in contact with a first surface, a height of the stop (i) decreases as the stacker cart is moved toward the first surface, and (ii) increases as the stacker cart is moved away from the first surface.

Stacker carts, printing apparatuses, and methods of stacking media on stacker carts

This is a mounting support that secures an electrostatic marking machine to the deck of a ship or other structure. This support provides vibration-isolating systems for shipboard mounting of these marking machines. The US Navy has imposed strict one-man, short-time requirements to mount and unmount electrostatic marking machines on a ship's deck. A key feature of the present embodiments is a double-threaded stud that lifts the machine off the floor onto the isolation mounts while securing it to the mount which is bolted to the ship's deck. The present configuration satisfies the new Navy mandate.

A digital input scanner suitable for copying bound documents. The scanner comprises a scanner base portion, and a bound document support assembly attached to a top of the scanner base portion. The support assembly includes a generally horizontal top platen support surface and a plurality of exterior side surfaces. A digital scanning assembly is supported within at least a portion of the scanner base portion for acquiring an image of a portion of the bound document, and for generating an output digital signal representative of the acquired document face. The scanner components are arranged such that one of the exterior side surfaces of the support assembly has a canted surface, and the canted side surface and the top platen support surface form an oblique angle therebetween. The side surface and top surface are positioned to support opposing faces of the bound document during use.

A simple system for mechanically lifting and securing a machine to vibration isolators. The system is unitary, compact, occupies space only under the machine and not protruding from the sides and allows the machine to be completely detached for servicing. The system includes a four bar linkage using two square supporting members as a chassie with the four bar linkage being mounted to vibration isolators that are welded to support plate. The four bar linkage is manipulated by two screws to easily and quickly raise the machine off its casters and restrain it in a fixed position. The two screws make detachment from the four bar linkage a simple and time efficient process for repairpersons.
