The present disclosure relates generally to a carbon-neutral process for the generation of carbon-neutral hydrogen and carbon-neutral electricity. More specifically, the present disclosure relates to compositions, methods and apparatus employing a carbon-neutral process for generating electricity employing a liquid organic hydrogen carrier (LOHC) for supplying hydrogen for generating the carbon neutral electricity. The present disclosure also relates more specifically to carbon-neutral compositions consisting of liquid organic hydrogen carriers used for supplying hydrogen to generate electricity that may be regenerated in a carbon-neutral process using an apparatus with a net zero atmospheric emission of carbon oxides.

Carbon-neutral process for generating electricity

Bulk catalysts comprised of nickel, molybdenum, tungsten and titanium and methods for synthesizing bulk catalysts are provided. The catalysts are useful for hydroprocessing, particularly hydrodesulfurization and hydrodenitrogenation, of hydrocarbon feedstocks.

Tetrametallic bulk hydroprocessing catalysts

A method for reducing catalyst contamination in a hydrocarbon conversion reactor system, comprising the steps of contacting at least a portion of a metal-coated hydrocarbon conversion reactor system comprising a reactive metal with a getter to produce a movable metal; and fixating the movable metal.

Method for removing reactive metal from a reactor system

A method of removing reactive metal from a metal-coated reactor system, comprising contacting at least a portion of a metal-coated reactor system containing reactive metal with a getter to produce movable metal, and fixating the movable metal, the getter, or both. The contacting is preferably done prior to catalyst loading. A preferred coating metal comprises tin and a preferred getter comprises HCl. The invention is also a method for reducing catalyst contamination from a metal which was used to coat a reactor system. The method comprises contacting a metal-coated reactor system, with a gaseous halogen-containing compound to produce movable metal; thereafter or simultaneously, at least a portion of the movable metal is removed from the reactor system. Then a halided catalyst is loaded into the reactor system.

A catalytic reforming process comprising the catalytic conversion of hydrocarbons to aromatics, said process comprising treating a halided zeolite catalyst (hiz-cat) containing a Group VIII metal at commercial startup conditions and then reforming hydrocarbons, wherein said catalyst is prepared by washing a bound zeolite catalyst base or a bound zeolite catalyst before halide addition. A preferred hiz-cat is a non-acidic Pt K L-zeolite catalyst prepared by a process that includes the steps of preparing a calcined silica-bound K L-zeolite catalyst base; washing said bound zeolite catalyst base with a liquid comprising water; and incorporating Pt and halogen-containing compound(s) comprising chlorine and fluorine into said washed catalyst base. Ammonium chloride and ammonium fluoride are preferred halide sources.

Reforming using a bound halided zeolite catalyst

A new process for the hydrodealkylation of ethylbenzene and the isomerization of xylenes at low pressure and at a low hydrogen to ethylbenzene mole ratio as well as a low hydrogen to hydrocarbon feed mole ratio using a catalyst comprising (a) HZSM-5 having a particle size less than 1.0 microns, and (b) a Group VIII metal such as platinum.

Low pressure hydrodealkylation of ethylbenzene and xylene isomerization

A catalytic reforming process using a halided zeolite catalyst containing platinum in a metal-coated reactor system where, prior to catalyst loading and reforming, halide acid is removed from the catalyst. The process comprises providing a reforming reactor system having a metal coating; providing a halided zeolite catalyst containing platinum prepared by a method which includes removing volatile halide acid; loading said catalyst into said reactor system; and catalytically reforming hydrocarbons to aromatics, wherein metal from the metal-coated reactor system does not deactivate the catalyst. The coating metal preferably comprises tin and the zeolite catalyst is preferably a platinum L-zeolite catalyst. The invention is also a method for reducing catalyst contamination from a metal which was used to coat a reactor system. The method comprises pretreating a halided catalyst with hydrogen to remove volatile halide acid. The resulting catalyst is then loaded into a metal-coated reactor system and hydrocarbons are converted.

Reforming process with catalyst pretreatment

The present invention is a method for synthesizing non-zeolitic molecular sieves which have a three-dimensional microporous framework structure comprising �AlO.sub.2 ! and �PO.sub.2 ! units. In preparing the reaction mixture, a critical feature of the invention is for the molar ratio of the templating agent to phosphorus be greater than about 0.05 before the molar ratio of aluminum to phosphorus is greater than about 0.5.

Method of making microporous non-zeolitic molecular sieves

A method of making a hydrotreating catalyst wherein the catalyst is prepared by mixing a peptized alumina support containing soluble Group IVB and Group VIII metal compounds with a solution containing a soluble Group VIB metal compound and a basic compound. The catalyst is used for hydrodenitrogenation and Ramsbottom Carbon Residue reduction of a hydrocarbon feedstock.

Hydroconversion catalyst

A method for making a hydrotreating catalyst wherein the catalyst is prepared by mixing a peptized hydrated supporting oxide with a hydrated Group IVB metal oxide gel promoter. The Group VIII metals are mixed in with the Group IVB metal oxide gel promoter. A solution containing a soluble Group VIB metal and a basic compound is added. The catalyst is used for hydrodenitrogenation and Ramsbottom Carbon Residue reduction of a hydrocarbon feedstock.
