The provision of calibration information for a given high energy-based scanner having a plurality of detectors can comprise forming () detector-level calibration information for that scanner. This can comprise calculating () a theoretical trajectory as pertains to relative movement as between the plurality of detectors and a calibration object as a function of known geometry parameters for this particular scanner and then causing () relative movement as between this plurality of detectors and a calibration object to develop a corresponding observed trajectory for the calibration object. These teachings then provide for determining (), for each of at least some of the plurality of detectors, a value that corresponds to a difference between the theoretical trajectory and the observed trajectory to thereby provide the detector-level calibration information.

Method and apparatus to facilitate forming detector-level calibration information for a high energy-based scanner

A computerized tomography process () that provides, optionally, for preliminary scans (), helically-oriented full scans (), and/or improved resolution scans (). In some instances, partial cross-sectional views are captured which views are then later joined to yield a complete view. In some instances a helical image-capture path is used. In yet other instances small lateral shifts to the position of the X-ray source are used to provide higher resolution views of the object being scanned.

Method and apparatus to facilitate computerized tomography of relatively large objects

An improved multiple fluid delivery system usable for the delivery of intravenous fluids to a patient from a plurality of fluid sources includes flexible tubing members for coupling the sources to a fluid junction member. The fluid junction member, wherein little or no interfluid mixing occurs, is coupled by an output conduit to a controllable pump. Output from the pump, via a further fluid flow conduit, can be coupled to the patient's catheter. The system can multiplex a plurality of different fluids. Spaced apart sequences of fluid quanta are injected into the output conduit from the fluid flow junction. The fluids are either mixed, or not, in the output conduit as desired. Operator interaction and control of the system can occur either through a display screen or by means of a bar code sensor. Hard copy records can be provided of fluid flow delivery schedules or other related information.

A system for displaying data to produce a three-dimensional image, and interactively modifying and transforming the data and the resultant image in response to user commands comprises control circuitry, a high-speed processor linked to the control circuitry, a memory linked to the control circuitry and to the high-speed processor, and a raster-based display linked to the control circuitry and to the memory. The control circuitry is programmed to transfer data from the memory to the high-speed processor, to control the high-speed processor in modifying and transforming the data in response to, and in accordance with, the user command to obtain transformed data representative of a plurality of two-dimensional rasters of pixels, to transfer the transformed data from the high-speed processor to the memory, and to control the raster-based display in displaying the transformed data.
