A fluid dispenser for use with a source of fluid having a flexible, valveless dispensing tube includes a base unit for support of the fluid source and a closure member normally closing off the end of the tube. The dispenser carries a cam and spring assembly which, upon the application of the hand pressure, moves a roller into engagement with the tube and moves the closure member out of engagement with the tube to open the end thereof and permit the fluid to be ejected therefrom.

Improved dispensing cartridges for use in combination with a dispenser to distribute high viscosity material, such as soap, for example, include an integral but removable bottom wall which serves the dual purpose of acting as the bottom of a container during transportation of the cartridge and acting as a pressure plate in response to atmospheric pressure to assist dispensing of the material when the cartridge is installed on the dispenser and the bottom wall is detached. A modified form of the invention is designed to be utilized selectively with either free running dispensers or with dispensers which include a screw operated pressure plate and includes a centrally disposed removable section in the bottom wall.

Dispensing cartridge

A dispenser for use particularly with high viscosity or thixotropic materials and especially those containing grit is disclosed and comprises a two-piece housing adapted to be received on a supporting surface and to receive a replacable supply container for the material. The housing has an internal track at least partially disposed in a curved condition and intended to receive and support a flexible tube which interconnects the supply container and a dispensing nozzle which is carried by the housing. One of the housing components also carries a roller crank having a pair of diametrically opposed rollers which can be selectively moved into and out of occlusive contact with the tubing to force a measured amount of the material through the flexible tube and out the nozzle. A handle is disposed externally of the housing for connection with the roller crank for actuation thereof. The roller crank and the internal track are designed so that, except during the actual turning of the handle, the rollers are removed from occlusive contact with the tube so that it is in what may be called a relaxed condition.
