A container insert having at least two primary pieces, wherein one of the pieces includes keying features that may be replaceable with other pieces having different keying features. A related single piece container insert includes multiple keying features formed on the interior and exterior surfaces of the container insert. A related coupling assembly includes a venting system that vents a fluid into the container after a valve in the coupling assembly, which is positioned in the container contents flow path, has been opened.

Connect/disconnect coupling for a container

A connector apparatus for controlling fluid dispensing/transmission that includes a control component for communication between couplers thereof. A first coupler has a transmitter, and is releasably connected with a mating reader coupler that has a transmitter and fluid control device to exchange information with the transmitter of the first coupler. The transmitters communicate and are operated by wireless means such as by RF devices. Upon confirming that the first coupler is properly coupled to the mating coupler and that the first coupler has a proper identification, the fluid control device controls fluid flow, using the transmitters of the first coupler and the mating reader coupler, under predetermined parameters, e.g., pressure, temperature, duration, and flow rate, as indicated in the first coupler.

A closure device used in a fluid dispensing assembly. The closure device contains a housing, a poppet member, and a biasing member. The closure device provides a retaining structure for stabilizing and aligning the poppet member and biasing member within the housing.

A coupling apparatus for fluid dispensing with a disposable connector on the fluid line or fluid dispensing system side. The coupling apparatus includes an insert body that is connectable with a disposable connector device. The insert body includes a recess area defined between a first inner sidewall and a second inner sidewall. The second inner sidewall extends coaxially with the first inner sidewall, and has an aperture defining an opening through a first and second end. The connector device includes a connector body connected with an adapter portion. The connector body includes a beveled end that is insertable through the aperture of the second inner sidewall. The adapter portion is disposed proximate and extends past the beveled end, where the beveled end is recessed within the adapter portion. An insertion space is defined between the beveled end and an outer wall defined by the adapter portion. The adapter portion is insertable into the recess area and the insertion space is receivable of the second inner sidewall.

A fluid dispensing assembly for fluid dispensing and fluid transmission from a fluid source. The fluid dispensing assembly alone may dispense from a fluid source, or may be connected to a fluid dispensing system. The fluid dispensing assembly has a closure connected to a coupler. The closure includes fill through capabilities. The coupler is provided with a locking feature for preserving proper orientation and a closed position before being coupled to a piece of fluid dispensing equipment.

A poppet valve disposed in a dispensing valve assembly includes a supporting member. The supporting member has a resilient flap. A sealing member slides over the resilient flap of the support member, so that the sealing member is not damaged or permanently deformed by the support member. A quick connect/disconnect coupling having a female coupling member, a male coupling member, and a clip member slidably mounted on the female coupling member for retaining the female and male coupling members together in a coupled state. The clip member is designed to prevent inadvertent actuation thereof, thereby preventing accidental disconnection of the female and male coupling members once they are in the coupled state. The clip member must be actuated from a lock position to an unlock position before the clip member can be actuated from its connect position to its disconnect position. Thus two separate movements of the clip member are required before the coupling can be disconnected and/or connected.
