Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive an indication that a 5G media streaming (5GMS) service is partially available over a 5G multicast/broadcast service (5MBS). The UE may receive information that indicates a first set of resources of the 5GMS service that are accessible or delivered via 5G unicast, and a second set of resources of the 5GMS service that are accessible or delivered via 5MBS, wherein the second set of resources are hosted on a server of the UE. The UE may receive or transmit data associated with the 5GMS service. Numerous other aspects are described.

Hybrid 5G media streaming

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may start a timer for obtaining quality of experience (QoE) measurements. The UE may obtain the QoE measurements until the timer expires. The UE may transmit information indicating the QoE measurements. Numerous other aspects are described.

Various embodiments may provide streaming service downlink network assistance and/or uplink network assistance mechanisms in a fifth generation (5G) system (5GS) network via an Application Function (AF) computing device in a 5GS. In some embodiments, a computing device and/or the AF computing device may inform the network about needs for capacity for downlink or uplink traffic. Various embodiments may include sending radio access network (RAN) capacity requests to a network computing device of the 5GS network including a 5G RAN. In some embodiments, the network computing device of the 5GS network may be a computing device that is not part of the 5G RAN. In some embodiments, capacity need messages may be sent directly from user equipment (UE) computing devices to computing devices of the 5G RAN. In some embodiments, capacity information of the RAN may be delivered to an AF computing device via an intermediate network function.

Uplink and downlink streaming bit rate assistance in 4G and 5G networks

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a network entity, a multicast-broadcast user service description message. The UE may communicate, using a multicast-broadcast service (MBS) transport function (MBSTF) client, with an MBS entity of the network entity, in accordance with information included in the user service description message, wherein the MBS entity is split into a multicast delivery function and a unicast application server. Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for secure digital key derivation for a ranging session between a first device (e.g., a user equipment (UE)) and a second device (e.g., a vehicle). According to certain aspects, a first device maintains a secure ranging in a secure element (SE) at the first device. The first device further fetches, from the SE, one or more other keys derived from the secure ranging key. The first device further uses the one or more other keys to secure a ranging session between the first device and a second device.

The device may further include a coded picture buffer (CPB) and a video decoder that retrieves encoded video data from the CPB for decoding. Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for an enhanced query and response message for a recommended bit rate for uplink and/or downlink streaming. The techniques generally include generating a query message indicating a requested data rate for streaming services, wherein the requested data rate is indicated via a bit rate field and one or more additional bits, and sending the query message to a base station.

Systems, methods, and devices of the various aspects enable uplink delivery and downlink distribution of media content to users in live uplink streaming services. In various embodiments, media in a live uplink streaming service may be distributed by unicast and/or broadcast delivery methods. Various embodiments may include receiving, in a processor of a live uplink streaming sink computing device, assistance data for a live streaming session, selecting, by the processor, one or more delivery methods for processed media of the live streaming session based at least in part on the assistance data, and transmitting, by the processor, the processed media using the selected delivery methods.

In one example, a device for retrieving media data includes a memory configured to store an ISO Base Media File Format (ISO BMFF) file including one or more samples including hypertext markup language (HTML) elements defining dynamic web content, and a processing unit implemented in circuitry and configured to: retrieve the ISO BMFF file, extract the HTML elements from the samples of the file, and processing the HTML elements to present the dynamic web content. The HTML elements may include JavaScript elements. The processing unit may also present the dynamic web content in a manner that is synchronized with corresponding media data.

In one example, a device includes one or more processors implemented in circuitry and configured to execute a Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP (DASH) aware application (DAA) and a DASH client, and one or more user interfaces. The DAA subscribes to DASH events of a DASH event stream via a first application programming interface (API) between the DAA and a DASH client executed by the one or more processors. The DAA then receives data for one or more DASH events of the DASH event stream from the DASH client via a second API between the DAA and the DASH client, the data for the one or more DASH events specifying interactivity-related content. The DAA then presents the interactivity-related content via the one or more user interfaces.
