A system and method are provided for generating time resolved series of angiographic volume data having flow information integrated therewith. The method includes generating a series of 3D time-resolved vascular volumes from time resolved x-ray projection data and calculating blood velocity in the vascular volumes x-ray projection data to determine a rate of change of calculated contrast material arrival time at positions along the vascular volumes. The method also includes displaying the 3D time-resolved vascular volumes with a graphical indication of blood velocity in the vascular volumes.

System and method for time-resolved, three-dimensional angiography with flow information

Methods and systems are provided for generating quantitative computed tomography (CT) angiographic images using imaging systems that acquire a set of projection views forming CT angiographic image data of a patient using a projection duration of less than 50 milliseconds. The method may include producing a composite image from the CT angiographic image data that indicates an attenuation value at each composite image pixel of the patient, backprojecting each projection view in the CT angiographic image data and weighting a value backprojected into at image pixel by an attenuation value of a corresponding pixel in the composite image and summing backprojected values for each image pixel to produce a CT image of the patient. The method may further include performing a scatter correction and determining at least one of a flow direction or a velocity of flow with a vessel in the patient to provide the quantitative CT angiographic images.

System and method of quantitative angiograpy

A system and method for reconstructing an image using a cone-beam computed tomography (CT) imaging system includes acquiring data from a subject with the CT imaging system using a limited scan range that is less than 360 degrees. The process also includes reconstructing at least one image of the subject having a first temporal resolution from the data acquired, performing a temporal deconvolution of the at least one image using a finite temporal window to generate at least one image of the subject with a second temporal resolution that is greater than the first temporal resolution, and subtracting the at least one image of the subject with the second temporal resolution and a mask image of the subject to generate a time-resolved CT angiogram of the subject.

System and method for high-temporal resolution, time-resolved cone beam CT angiography

A system and method are provided for generating time resolved series of angiographic volume data having flow information. The system and method are configured to receive angiographic volume data acquired from a subject having received a dose of a contrast agent using an imaging system and process the angiographic volume data to generate angiographic volume images. The angiographic volume data is processed to derive flow information by determining a distance between two points along a vessel in the angiographic volume images and determining a phase at each of the two points along the vessel in the angiographic volume images. A flow direction or a velocity of flow within the vessel is determined using the distance between the two points along the vessel and the phase at each of the two points along the vessel.

In an apparatus and method for treating an aneurysm, a flow control member is positioned within a blood vessel at least in part upstream of an aneurysm and extending radially inward of the blood vessel wall into the flow path of blood flowing within the blood vessel. The flow control member alters the blood flow path within the blood vessel upstream of the aneurysm to inhibit blood flow to the aneurysm. A retention member may be positioned within the blood vessel at least in part upstream from the aneurysm and having an outer surface engageable with the blood vessel wall. In such an instance, the flow control member is retained by the retention member and extends radially inward of the blood vessel wall upstream from the aneurysm.

The present invention provides a coating that emits magnetic resonance signals and a method for coating medical devices therewith. The coating includes a paramagnetic metal ion-containing polymer complex that facilitates diagnostic and therapeutic techniques by readily visualizing medical devices coated with the complex.
