Disclosed herein are devices and methods related to UV disinfection of a transfer catheter during peritoneal dialysis. The transfer catheter comprises a first and second end, the second end comprising a transfer valve. The transfer valve body comprises an inlet, outlet, and a flush hole. The valve core comprises a notch configured to allow fluid flow between the various flow paths. The valve core and body are positioned off axis with respect to the fluid flow path. The transfer catheter can allow for a small volume kill zone, which can minimize the amount of UV required to disinfect the catheter.

Transfer catheter for ultraviolet disinfection

An apparatus for penetrating bone and accessing bone marrow is provided. The apparatus may include a penetrator assembly and a powered drill. The penetrator assembly may include an inner penetrator having a stylet. The penetrator assembly may also include an outer penetrator having a hollow cannula and a luer lock attachment. The powered drill may include a housing enclosing a motor and a power supply and associated circuitry. The powered drill may also include a connector receptacle for receiving a penetrator assembly connector of the penetrator assembly. The powered drill may include a magnetic connection which releasably locks the penetrator assembly connector into place with the powered drill. The power supply may include a rechargeable battery within the housing for supplying power to the motor. A battery indicator may be provided to indicate a level of the battery.

Powered drivers, intraosseous devices and methods to access bone marrow

The present disclosure relates to an apparatus for providing access to bone marrow and delivering a quantity of fluid to an intraosseous space. The apparatus may include a driver having a housing and a drive shaft, and a plunger operating and cartridge drive mechanism for releasably retaining a portion of a cartridge assembly having a plunger assembly. A plunger operating assembly may be disposed within a longitudinal bore of the plunger operating and cartridge drive mechanism. The plunger operating assembly may include a plunger barrel having a chamber configured to receive a portion of the plunger assembly of the cartridge assembly. The apparatus may also include a drive housing for transmitting rotational forces from the drive shaft to the cartridge assembly.

A method for penetrating bone and accessing bone marrow is provided. The method may include inserting a penetrator assembly with a powered drill to penetrate the bone into the bone marrow. Kits carrying various components and devices are provided for use in obtaining access to a patient's vascular system. Various methods and procedures may be used to treat both emergency and more routine conditions using the contents of such kits. For example, such kits may contain various types of intraosseous (IO) devices including, but not limited to, drivers, penetrator assemblies, IO needles and other related components. Intravenous (IV) devices such as syringes, needles, IV bags, tubing and other related components for use in obtaining access to portions of a patient's vascular system may be included. Various types of connectors for communicating fluids with and/or monitoring a patient's vascular system may be provided. Such kits may contain medications, drugs and fluids used to treat a wide variety of both acute and chronic diseases and conditions.

Vascular access kits and methods

The present disclosure relates to an apparatus for delivering a quantity of fluid to bone marrow. The apparatus may include a drive housing, a plunger operating assembly, a retractable sleeve, a first spring, a second spring, and a release mechanism. The drive housing may include a first portion configured to engage a driver assembly and a second portion configured to engage a cartridge assembly. The cartridge assembly may a fluid reservoir and a plunger assembly slidably disposed in the fluid reservoir. The cartridge assembly may be engaged with a bone penetrating needle and configured to rotate to insert the bone penetrating needle into the bone marrow. The first release mechanism may release the second spring to move the plunger operating assembly when the cartridge assembly is rotated to insert the bone penetrating needle into the bone marrow and the retractable sleeve is moved to a retracted position.

Apparatus for delivering a quantity of fluid to bone marrow of a bone or providing access to remove fluids from a target site is provided. The apparatus may include a driver, a plunger operating and cartridge assembly mechanism, a cartridge assembly having a fluid reservoir and a bone penetrating needle.

Apparatus and method to inject fluids into bone marrow and other target sites

The present invention provides a fluid delivery system having a first chamber, a second chamber and a third chamber; a flow-through pump element separating the first chamber from the second chamber; a moveable pump element separating the second chamber from the third chamber; a first outlet in communication with the third chamber; and second outlet in communication with the second chamber. Additionally, the present invention provides methods of operating a fluid delivery system having a first chamber, a second chamber and a delivery chamber by reducing the volume of the second chamber while increasing the volume of the delivery chamber without operation of a flow-through pump element that separates the second chamber from the first chamber.
