A method of preparing liquid medication doses using an automated dosing device may include securing a vial within a vial holder. The vial includes a liquid medicament. An empty syringe is secured within a syringe holder with a plunger of the syringe being secured by a plunger gripper and a luer lock of the syringe within a luer lock gripper. The syringe holder and the vial holder are moved closer together to insert a needle of the syringe through a septum of the vial while longitudinal axes of the syringe and the vial are at a downward angle and while the vial holder is lower than the syringe holder. The syringe holder and the vial holder are rotated to vertically align the longitudinal axes with the vial holder above the syringe holder. The plunger gripper is pulled away from the luer lock gripper to transfer liquid medicament into the syringe.

Medication dosing systems and methods

The central computer system receives requests, at least some of which require the compounding of one or more medications, and pushes assignments of respective compounding tasks to the one or more compounding devices. The assignments are made in accordance with a set of rules designed to promote efficient use of compounding resources.

Such methods can include receiving a request for preparation of a plurality of dosed medication delivery containers, determining at least one attribute of the request for preparation of at least one dosed medication delivery container, identifying a template corresponding to the at least one attribute of the request, the template identifying steps and a step sequence for filling the dosed medication delivery container, and executing the template. Executing the template can include iteratively assigning tasks to a plurality of stations within the automated dosing device, the performance of which tasks at least partially overlap, and directing a transport tool to move at least one medication delivery container between the stations of the automated dosing device.

Systems and methods for parallel preparation processing

Systems and methods of compounding of medication include a user interface that enables efficient design of compounding workflows and protocols. A user can select a workflow type from a number of workflow types differentiated at least in part by the vehicle in which a compounded pharmaceutical is to be delivered, and the user may also specify a compounding device. Options are presented and the steps of a workflow in accordance with the workflow type and options is displayed and updated in real time as options are selected. A protocol can be constructed by inserting information into the workflow based on a specification of a particular pharmaceutical to be compounded.

Methods and systems for dispensing a fluid using an automated fluid delivery system are disclosed. A pump may be configured to force an aliquot of fluid into a fluid delivery channel. A processor may receive values of a property for the aliquot and the source of the aliquot. The processor may use the values to determine the volume of the aliquot. The determined volume is compared by the processor against an expected volume to establish the amount of fluid being pumped by the pump per unit, such as time or revolutions. The processor controls operation of the pump to dispense a predetermined dose based on the amount of fluid being pumped by the pump per unit.

Methods and systems for dosing control in an automated fluid delivery system

Syringe systems and flow control systems configured to detect information associated with a liquid material are described. The syringe systems may include a syringe body for housing the liquid material and an injector piston for expelling the liquid material out of the syringe through a discharge outlet at a distal end of the syringe body. Components of the syringe, such as an injector piston, may include sensors configured to measure and/or detect a property of the liquid material, such as concentration, pH, or radioactivity. The flow control system may include a pinch valve and a platen arranged about a fluid delivery channel. Flow within the fluid delivery channel may be controlled by increasing (squeezing the fluid delivery channel) or decreasing the distance between the pinch valve and the platen. Components of the flow control system may include detectors configured to detect properties of fluid in the fluid control channel.

A method for planning and monitoring radiopharmaceutical usage during a plurality of radiopharmaceutical injection procedures includes: providing a schedule of the plurality of radiopharmaceutical injection procedures to produce a planned patient schedule; based on the planned patient schedule, calculating a multi-dose container configuration for use during the plurality of radiopharmaceutical injection procedures; transferring the planned patient schedule to a radiopharmaceutical fluid delivery system; loading the multi-dose patient configuration into the radiopharmaceutical fluid delivery system; and conducting the plurality of radiopharmaceutical injection procedures based on the planned patient schedule.

System and method for planning and monitoring multi-dose radiopharmaceutical usage on radiopharmaceutical injectors

A valveless pharmaceutical infusion system for delivery of a pharmaceutical, such as a radiopharmaceutical, is described. The device may include two or more roller pumps, a fluid path set including a confidence, and a measuring device for measuring a property of the pharmaceutical. Methods for delivering a pharmaceutical, such as a radiopharmaceutical, using a valveless pharmaceutical infusion system are also describe.
