A compact card handling device for use in casinos possesses a card input portal and two playing card discharge portals which are all accessible by a device operator. An optical recognition sensor cooperates with a microcontroller to interrogate the integrity of each card during an ongoing shuffling operation to discover unexpected cards, including unrecognized cards and flipped cards. Expected cards are randomized and accumulated into a stack whereupon those cards are thereafter delivered to a first discharge portal comprising a conventional multi-card shoe. Unexpected cards are immediately discharged to a second portal where they may be visually examined by the device operator while a shuffling operation continues. The input portal and the shoe are clustered conveniently upon the surface of a casino table while the bulk of the machine resides below the table surface.

The invention herein describes a casino grade card handling device used for randomizing playing cards that includes an integral card delivery shoe which allows dealers to access a continuous supply of shuffled cards. The device can operate in a continuous mode and can be programmed to accommodate a variety of different card games, and a variable number of players. The device includes a radial card receiver whose operation advantageously exploits centrifugal force, yielding a configuration that is more compact and requires less manufacturing cost than similar existing devices. The device is designed to be embedded unobtrusively into a casino table or adjacent stand such that its dealing shoe, input portal and control panel are conveniently clustered together and easily accessible to a dealer.

Compact continuous shuffler

The invention herein describes a card handling device used for automatically shuffling two card decks sequentially for use in a novel casino card game. The device shuffles a first deck and moves it to a first output tray and then shuffles a second deck which is moved to a second output tray. A microcontroller randomly decides which deck is to be moved to which output tray. A moveable hood obscures observation of the two output trays while the shuffling and deck movements are underway. Thereafter, the hood is moved to permit viewing and access of the two play-ready card decks simultaneously. One player is chosen as a game 'HOST' and thereafter chooses which of the two decks to utilize for a subsequent card game whereupon the game “HOST” or other players may become advantaged by certain nonconventional cards.

Card handling device and game

An automatic playing card handling apparatus for use in casino card games possesses a card intake portal and a first card deck discharge portal which are both accessible by a dealer. The shuffling apparatus is controlled by a microcontroller which allows two fully-shuffled, but separated, card decks to be ready for play simultaneously. A first shuffled card deck is independently supported in the first card deck discharge portal by a retractable support structure while a second shuffled card deck remains ready for play while independently supported by an elevator just below the first card deck discharge portal. A third unshuffled card deck may coexist within the card intake portal. An optical recognition sensor cooperates with the microcontroller to interrogate the integrity of each deck during randomization to discover unreadable cards, unexpected cards, damaged cards or missing cards. If the microcontroller determines that a deck is faulty, then that faulty deck is automatically disgorged from the apparatus through a second discharge port into a secured or unsecured container. Three separated decks can be automatically routed through the apparatus in order to assure uninterrupted card play. Also disclosed is a method of randomizing two groups of playing cards.

A card handling apparatus and method of manufacture and assembly is used for creating pre-formed hands for use in casino poker games whereupon the apparatus may be programmed to accommodate a number of different game variations, and a number of players is disclosed. The apparatus comprises an unshuffled card input portal, a shuffled card discharge portal and a radial card receiver whose operation utilizes centrifugal force. The exploitation of centrifugal force allows the apparatus to be operated without the need for the motorized pusher mechanisms which are prevalent in the prior art, thus creating a shuffler that is more compact and requires less manufacturing cost.

A number of portable anti-cellulite massage devices are disclosed, where the devices are handheld and have four massage rollers which each rotate upon motor-driven eccentric axles to produce synchronized motion. All four rollers produce a percussive massage force in two orthogonal directions at their contact regions with the massage-receiving surface. Each roller has a gripping surface and a slip torque mechanism which allows the roller to partially slip upon its axle during its eccentric rotation cycle. Pairs of rollers rotate eccentrically in opposing directions to produce cyclic stretching and compression forces in the plane of the massage-receiving surface. In one operating mode, the devices produce alternating rising and collapsing skin folds while being traversed along the massage-receiving surface. In an alternate operating mode, the devices may be held stationary to treat a target fascial region by alternately raising a skin fold and then flattening it.

In comparison to prior art hand-forming shufflers which typically utilize five or six motors, the preferred embodiment utilizes just two motors. A method of rotating the axis of individual playing cards during nest insertion is also taught.

The apparatus allows two fully-shuffled, but separated, card decks to be ready for play simultaneously. A first shuffled card deck is independently supported in the card deck discharge portal by a retractable support structure while a second shuffled card deck remains ready for play while independently supported by a slot-less elevator within the footprint of the first shuffled deck. Three separated decks can be automatically routed through the apparatus in order to sustain uninterrupted card play. Also disclosed is a method of randomizing a group of playing cards.

There is disclosed an ink jet printer for printing on both sides of a label web. The printer has selectively movable guides which enable the label web to be easily threaded through the printer and which enable the label web to be brought into an operating position for printing and advancing the label web. The printer has individually and selectively removably mounted ink jet print modules to facilitate changing of ink colors, replacing or servicing a malfunctioning print module, and so forth. The ink jet print heads of the modules can be individually selectively moved between printing and stored positions. The unwinding of the label web from the supply roll is facilitated by an unwind mechanism to prevent stretching of the label web. The system for delivering ink and recovering waste ink includes needles for penetrating a cartridge. A guard shields the needles when the module(s) are out of the printer.
