Automating a product offering presented in a consumer kiosk application for creating and order consumer photo-related products. An automated product offering system determines in real-time or near real-time the availability of products to be offered to the consumer and adjusts the display on the kiosk GUI to guide the user to select products that are currently available. The product availability may be specific to a location and a retailer hosting the consumer kiosk application. The kiosk GUI display is adjusted in accordance with product advertising and promotional campaigns to guide the user to generate orders for products that offer the best value to the consumer while helping retailers and kiosk operators succeed with advertising campaigns.

Automated product offering

A system and method for routing and delivering pre-fetched assets/media, such as a digital image, is provided. The present invention is directed to a system that allows for two digital images to be pre-fetched or otherwise transferred concurrently from two separate source devices to virtually expand the bandwidth and increase the efficiency of the transfer. The system also allows image enhancements to be made in a distributed manner either by a source or destination device, or by both. The invention further provides a method of efficiently delivering multiple versions of a single image to a destination device. An asset ranking system is also provided that takes into consideration the frequency at which the digital image is accessed and the number of source devices that that the digital image is stored within.

System and method for providing caching and pre-fetch of assets/media

A system and method for ordering a print product using a mobile computing device is provided. The system includes a photofinisher configured for receiving a print order from the mobile computing device and producing the print product based upon the print order. Further, a print product ordering module is configured for allowing the print order to be completed using the mobile computing device, wherein the print order includes the digital image and the print product selected using the mobile computing device. A wireless local area network is configured for placing the mobile computing device in communication with the photofinisher when the mobile computing device is located within a range of the wireless local area network. The print order completed using the mobile computing device is communicated to the photofinisher when the mobile computing device is located within the range of the wireless local area network.

System and method for ordering a print product using a mobile computing device

A system and method for launching an application program stored in a memory of a mobile computing device when the mobile device is associated with a local area network (LAN) is provided. The method may be programmed for execution in a computing environment, wherein the method comprises: providing a local area network; allowing the mobile computing device to associate with the local area network; providing a web page for display on the mobile computing device including terms and conditions of use of the local area network; allowing for the acceptance of the displayed terms and conditions of use of the local area network using the mobile computing device; providing for the detection of the application program in the memory of the mobile computing device; and if the application program is detected in the memory of the mobile computing device, launching the application program on the mobile computing device.

System and method for launching an application program upon association of a mobile computing device with a local area network

A method of digitally simulating an imaging effect on a base digital image being displayed by a computing device, which is representative of a print or document including the image effect, is provided. In one aspect, the imaging effect is displayed in association with the base digital image as a function of the position of the display of the computing device relative to a first or normalized position of the display. In another aspect, the imaging effect is displayed in association with the base digital image as a function of the position of an object being captured by a camera of the computing device. In both instances, the imaging effect becomes more visible as the display of the device moves further from its first position, or the object captured by the camera moves from its original position.

Method of simulating an imaging effect on a digital image using a computing device

A system and method for processing digital templates having one or both of a pre-filled image and text field. Optional image and/or text fields are provided for filling in by the customer using customer-selected data. As the customer adds text and images to the template, a data file is created having an indication of the template style selected as well as the optional data fields filled in by the customer including one or more of the location, orientation, size and font thereof. The data file is transmitted to a photofinisher which has access to a high resolution copy of the template, which is populated by the data in the data file to create the finished template print. Since only the data file is transmitted to the photofinisher, the file size is kept to a relative minimum and is thus relatively quick and easy to transmit to the photofinisher.
