A system and method for controlling financial transactions is disclosed. A customer, using a wireless device, identifies a point of sale and the amount of a transaction at that point of sale is first communicated to a central service and then transmitted to the wireless device for display at the wireless device. The customer can either accept the transaction amount to complete the transaction or reject the amount to cancel the transaction. The customer may have to enter a password or personal identification number to verify the authorization to use the wireless financial system. The customer is billed for the transaction via credit, debit, ATM or other methods, such as the wireless carrier or an internet provider.

System and method for controlling financial transactions over a wireless network

An electrical coupling comprises a sealing element, a mechanical securing element, and load bearing members on either side of the mechanical securing element. The load bearing members each comprise upper and lower body halves, which mount to an inner member through which an insulated electrical cable runs. Between the upper and lower body halves and the inner member, an open weave fabric is secured, and the fabric extends onto the electrical cable beyond the load bearing member, so that when stress is applied to the cable, the fabric tends to squeeze down onto the cable, thereby bearing the stress on the cable. The mechanical securing element is preferably a bayonet mount, including an O-ring seal providing a water resistant seal when the connection is made up.

Load-bearing coupling for electrical cord

A system and method are disclosed for providing personal dialing profiles for users of wireless devices. The users enter telephone numbers into a profile list and specify any desired special handling or routing operations for future calls to each number. The personal profile lists allow users to dial only an abbreviated portion of the telephone number and then the wireless network adds any other required digits, such as country, area or local exchange codes. The system also provides specified routing, such as using a preselected service provider when a call to a particular number will be a long distance call. The personal profile information is stored on an service control point (SCP) or a database that is accessible to the wireless telephone network. Users add telephone numbers and configure profile information using a personal computer, which is linked to the wireless network or SCP via a data network, such as the Internet.
