A rocker shoe has a lower rocker surface extending across the plantar surface of the shoe sole from the heel and terminating short of the toe. A rocker shoe construction kit has a rigid or substantially rigid rocker piece having an upper surface for securing over a major portion of a lower plantar surface of the sole of a shoe upper and a lower surface of predetermined rocker shape, a cushioning layer for securing over the lower surface of the rocker piece, and a layer of tread material configured for securing over the lower surface of the cushioning layer and any exposed portion of the plantar surface of a shoe.

Method and system for personalized orthodontic treatment

A convertible buccal tube is disclosed which includes an arch wire slot covered by a separable cover. The cover includes a mesial or front flared portion to facilitate placing the end of an arch wire therein without undesirably stressing the cover. The cover is further secured to the buccal tube body by integral seams, brazing or other adhesive means that are varied in strength mesially-distally, with about 50% greater force being required to separate the cover at the mesial end thereof. The cover and increased strength seams provide that the cover is not prematurely separated from the buccal tube, particularly during installation of an arch wire.

Advanced buccal tube

An orthodontic appliance has a tooth-abutting surface oriented at an acute angle relative to the base of an arch-wire slot. A lip bumper tube of the appliance is reverse offset relative to the base of the arch-wire slot to obtain more accurate manipulation of the force and torque vectors applied to the tooth. The angle of the base also reduces occlusal interference by gingivally inclining the lip bumper. Wedge-shaped occlusal tie wings further reduce occlusal interference. An auxiliary hook of the appliance is shaped so that its extension in the buccal direction is less than that of the lip bumper tube to reduce patient irritation and discomfort.

A defense weapon, comprising a toe boot which fits over the toe of a wearer's shoe and held securely in place by straps, one on each side of the toe boot, which are carried to the rear of a person's shoe, there tightly fastened and held by a belt and buckle type fastening device. To the front of the toe boot is attached a long steel bolt having a very sharp point, and having four sharp cutting blades, that are welded to the spike bolt, near the pointed end of the spike bolt; the blades are spaced at ninety degree intervals around the circumference of the bolt. The four bladed spike bolt can be unscrewed and carried with, and then when the defense weapon is needed, in times of danger, the bladed spike bolt can be screwed into the toe boot adapter, and hand tightened, making the defense weapon ready for use.
