Home care compositions

A fabric conditioning composition comprising an emulsion of particles in an aqueous vehicle, the particles comprising (a) an esterquat comprising an alkyl dialkanol amine esterquat of a fatty acid, wherein from at least 90 wt % to up to 100 wt % of the esterquat is comprised of diesterquat and from 0 wt % to up to 10 wt % of the esterquat is comprised of monoesterquat, and the fatty acid is substantially saturated and has an iodine value of less than 5, and (b) a water swellable cationic polymer.

Fabric conditioning composition

A unit dose fabric conditioner that contains a combination of a polyol, alkoxylated alcohol, and dispersing polymer to allow for incorporation of encapsulated fragrance slurries into unit dose fabric conditioners to disperse the encapsulated fragrance and fabric conditioner active during laundering.

Unit dose fabric softener

A composition comprising (a) an esterquat that is a quaternized reaction product of an alkanol amine and a fatty acid, wherein from at least 90 wt % to up to 100 wt % of the esterquat is comprised of triesterquat and from 0 wt % to up to 10 wt % of the esterquat is comprised of at least one of monoesterquat and diesterquat, and (b) a cationic surfactant. Also, a method of producing such a composition and a method of softening a fabric, and increasing fragrance delivery, comprising treating the fabric with the composition.

Esterquat composition having high triesterquat content

A fabric softening composition containing poly(vinyl alcohol)-poly(ethylene glycol) graft copolymers. The copolymer can be effectively deposited on the fabric from the fabric softening composition to provide protection from soil and enhanced soil removal on a broad range of fabric including nylon and cotton.

Fabric conditioning compositions containing an amine acid softening compound

A unit dose wash cycle fabric softening composition for softening or conditioning fabrics in the wash cycle of an automatic washing machine, said unit dose comprising a compacted granular fabric softener composition formed from granules of softener, which granules are formed from a powder of said clay component wherein the amount of moisture in said clay component is from about 3% to about 10%, by weight, and wherein the total amount of moisture in the compacted fabric softener composition is from about 3% to about 25% by weight.

Wash cycle unit dose softener containing a controlled amount of moisture

A unit dose wash cycle fabric softening composition for softening or conditioning fabrics in the wash cycle of an automatic washing machine, said unit dose comprising a compacted granular fabric softener composition in an amount sufficient to form a unit dose capable of providing effective softening or conditioning of fabrics in the wash cycle of said washing machine, and wherein said fabric softener composition comprises (A) a treated montmorillonite-containing clay selected to have initial properties as follows: (i) a montmorillonite content of at least 85%; and (ii) when said clay is activated with sodium ions, dried and ground to particles, said ground particles do not swell more than about 2.5 fold over a period of 24 hours when added to deionized water at room temperature; and wherein said montmorillonite-containing clay is treated by the process comprising the following sequential steps: (a) drying said clay to a moisture content of from about 25 to about 35%, by weight; (b) extruding the dried material through a die to form a paste; (c) drying said paste to a moisture content of from about 10% to about 14% by weight; and (d) calcining at a temperature of about 120&deg; C. to about 250&deg; C.; and (B) at least one disintegration agent to enhance the dispersibility of said compacted granular composition in water selected from the group consisting of swelling polymers; cellulose; and electrolytes.

A unit dose wash cycle fabric softening composition for softening or conditioning fabrics in the wash cycle of an automatic washing machine, said unit dose comprising a compacted granular fabric softener composition comprising a softening clay component in an amount sufficient to form a unit dose capable of providing effective softening or conditioning of fabrics in the wash cycle of said washing machine.
