A fastener device adapted for attaching at least one tag (or other identifier) to an object. The fastener device comprises a T-bar component, a paddle component, and a filament component flexibly attached to both the T-bar component on one end and the paddle component on the other end. In some embodiments, the fastener device is deployable via a fastener dispensing device comprising a needle designed to puncture a hole in at least one tag and the object while also inserting the T-bar component through the hole. Once inserted, the paddle component exerts a cantilever spring force against at least one tag holding the tag(s) securely against the object.

Horticulture fastener

A method and apparatus for constructing fasteners of various lengths and using the fasteners to secure at least one product to at least one packaging. The apparatus comprises as applicator module and a needle for engaging or attaching a plurality of T-bar elements to a filament. A user employs the apparatus to engage or attach a first T-bar element to the filament at a first position within the packaging. The filament is then stretched across at least one product, and a second T-bar element is engaged or attached to the filament at a second position within at least one packaging. The filament is cut leaving the fastener in place securing the product to the packaging.

Apparatus and method of generating a fastener and securing at least one product to at least one packaging

Plastic fastener and plastic fastener assembly. The plastic fastener assembly may be a length of continuously connected fastener stock and may include a first flexible filament having a first end and a second end, a first cross-bar disposed at the first end of the first flexible filament, and a first paddle disposed at the second end of the first flexible filament. The plastic fastener assembly may further include a second flexible filament, the second flexible filament having a first end and a second end, a second cross-bar disposed at the first end of the second flexible filament, and a second paddle disposed at the second end of the second flexible filament. The plastic fastener assembly may further include a first severable connector interconnecting the first and second paddles. The first severable connector may include a pair of generally frusto-semi-circular members joined to one another at a generally planar break region.

A fastener assembly having a unique pawl design for the head portion of a fastener assembly. The fastener assembly may be a cable tie that includes a head portion having a pawl that includes a primary pawl tooth, at least one set of secondary pawl teeth, and a shelf support feature for pawl. The fastener assembly of the present invention prevent pawl roll out which is a failure that currently occurs with fastener assembly currently available in the market place.

A tie well-suited for use in retail packaging applications includes a plastic head insert molded around one end of a paper-based cord, such as a length of twine, string or other similar environmentally-friendly material. In one embodiment, the plastic head includes a generally rectangular buckle shaped to define an elongated channel dimensioned to receive the free end of the paper-based cord. A deflectable pawl is coupled to the buckle and is naturally biased to project into the channel and selectively engage the cord in order to retain the tie in a closed loop configuration. The buckle includes a substantially open side wall through which the paper-based cord can be extracted after the tie is formed in its closed loop configuration. A clip is preferably provided on the head for selectively retaining a section of the paper-cord that has been inserted through the elongated channel.

A unitary, plastic cable tie for use in securing an article to packaging includes an elongated, serrated strap and a support member that extend orthogonally out from opposing surfaces of an apertured head. The support member includes an enlarged, planar backing plate pivotally connected to the head through a flexible, tabular neck. In use, the cable tie is folded through the neck such that the backing plate overlies the rear wall of the head. The strap is then inserted through both a fitted slot in the backing plate and a first opening in the packaging, wrapped transversely across the article, disposed through both an enlarged opening in the backing plate and a second opening in the packaging, and into engagement with the head. In this manner, the retentive force applied by the cable tie onto the packaging is dispersed evenly across the relatively large surface area of the backing plate.

A two-piece cable tie for bundling a plurality of objects, such as cables or wires, includes a front portion that is insert-molded onto a connective segment of a flexible strap, the front portion being constructed out of a higher tensile strength plastic than the strap to maximize the load rating of the tie without significantly increasing material costs. In one embodiment, the connective segment of the strap is shaped to include a pair of opposing semi-circular cutouts in its side rails to enhance the strength of mechanical bonding achieved by the front portion around the strap. In addition, the connective segment is shaped to include a circular hole that is offset longitudinally from the opposing cutouts, the diameter of the circular opening not exceeding 40% of the maximum width of the strap to ensure the integrity and strength of the strap along the entirety of its length.

A low-melt plastic fastener. According to one embodiment, the low-melt plastic fastener is shaped to include a flexible filament having a first cross-bar at a first end, and a second cross-bar at a second end. The filament, the first cross-bar, and the second cross-bar may be formed from the same material and may be molded as a unitary structure. Preferably, the fastener is molded as part of a length of continuously connected ladder stock. The plastic fastener is preferably made from a formulation consisting of about 60-99%, by weight, of a low-melt polyurethane and 1-40%, by weight, of a styrene acrylonitrile. The formulation is selected so that the filament melts when heated for about 10 minutes at 130-180&#xb0; C.

A device for applying treatment, or therapy, to a body part directs air efficiently and effectively to the body part by using an air diverter. In particular, a device for treating a body part, such as a massager, has one or more treatment areas positioned to deliver treatment to the body part and an air blower having an air outlet that creates a flow of air in an outward direction from the air outlet. The air diverter is positioned to divert the flow of air to the one or more treatment areas.

A vibration apparatus and also a motor assembly are provided to enhance vibrational massage therapy and to improve non-impact exercise. In particular, the motor assembly generates vibrations of differing amplitudes utilizing a single motor to drive a shaft that, in turn, rotates an eccentric weight whose rotational axis is non-coaxial with the shaft's rotational axis. The reversal of the direction in which the motor rotates the shaft changes the amplitude of the resulting vibrations communicated to a platform. Thus, vibrational amplitude most suitable for a particular application or purpose may be selected.

A docking station is provided which includes a housing having a receptacle bay and an electrical connector disposed within the receptacle bay. The receptacle bay of the docking station may be configured to receive a plurality of types and/or sizes of portable media players or storage devices therein. The electrical connector may be configured to transmit digital signals from and/or to the portable media player or storage device. The docking station may also include a height adjustment mechanism for adjusting the height of the electrical connector relative to the receptacle bay. A user interface may be provided for controlling the digital signals. Additionally, the docking station may also include an audio output port, a video output port, a USB port, or a combination thereof. Furthermore, the docking station may also include a speaker assembly and/or a video assembly to receive digital signals from the portable media player or storage device.

A substantially waterproof player presents content stored on an electronic storage device. The player has a body with a recess that houses the storage device and a closeable opening to permit access to the recess. A door is connected to the body and moves between an open position allowing access to the recess from outside the body and a closed position covering the opening. A docking piece in the recess holds the storage device, and moves between a receiving position for receiving and removing the storage device and a housed position for holding the storage device. The docking piece moves into the receiving position when the door moves into the open position. The docking piece moves into the housed position when the door is moved into the closed position. An input device in the recess receives the content from the storage device.

A massage base having a top surface contains at least one massage node base wherein the massage node base is motile in relation to the massage base. At least one massage node is mounted on each of the massage node bases and at least partially protrudes from the top surface. The massage node is mounted for rote movement in relation to the massage base. A motor, connected to the massage node base, engages the massage node in rote movement in relation to the massage base.
