A spout is disclosed capable of detecting if it is properly 'on' or 'off' the container according to tilt characteristics of the spout as determined by accelerometer and other sensor data. The tilt characteristics can be applied to one or more sets of coupling criteria, which if met, can provide an indication that the spout is &#x201c;on bottle&#x201d; or &#x201c;off bottle&#x201d;.

Spout assembly

A PCB mountable module includes logic circuitry that translates between serial and wireless communication protocols. Supported standards include I2C, CAN, ProfiBus, SPI, and USB, IP, ARP, UDP, TCP, ICMP, Telnet, TFTP, AutoIP, DHCP, HTTP, and SNMP. Modules can optionally provide security, MILARRS functionality, and web related services such as email alert. The novel modules can be used wherever a device designer wants a plug-in (or 'drop-in') system that obviates the need for independent development and maintenance of wireless capability. Examples include servers, desktop and laptop computers, and even devices such as kitchen appliances with relatively simpler electronics.

Wireless communication module

The present invention relates to a serial-to-Ethernet modular converter jack and a method of fabricating of the same. The serial-to-Ethernet converter electronic components, including the control software stored in on-board memory, are miniaturized and housed entirely in an RJ-45 jack. The present invention is constructed of a shielded housing that defines an open front portion for a connector port. The housing of the present invention also includes a segregated interior chamber, which encases all of the electrical components necessary to complete a serial-to-Ethernet conversion of data. Lead pins electrically connected to the circuitry within the interior chamber, protrude from the based of the connector jack providing for a means to mate the jack to a circuit board. First, second and third circuit boards collectively incorporate the serial-to-Ethernet circuitry components. Both the first circuit board incorporating magnetic circuitry and the second circuit board incorporating control circuitry are positioned in generally horizontal parallel relation within the interior chamber. The second circuit board which defines opposed sides includes electronic components disposed upon the upper and lower of both sides of the second circuit board. The third circuit board, incorporating connections to the LEDs, is positioned generally perpendicular in relation to the first and second circuit boards and is structurally connected to the first and second circuit boards, additionally providing an electrical connection between the first and second boards. Alternative embodiments of the invention are disclosed and include various arrangement of the serial-to-Ethernet circuitry within the interior chamber of the housing.

An improved method of shipping and installing a new hard drive in a computer comprising the steps of packaging a new hard drive in an improved static dissipation bag having a conductive coating on its exterior surface; boxing the packaged new hard drive in a shock-absorbing medium within a transportation box, connecting the new hard drive to the computer, transferring the data from the computer to the new hard drive, disconnecting the new hard drive from the computer, grounding the static dissipation bag to the computer and to an operator, removing the new hard drive from the bag and transportation box, and installing it in the computer.

Method for installing a hard drive into a computer and improved components therefor

An improved method of installing a new hard drive in a computer comprising packaging a new hard drive with a connected hard drive connector assembly having a hard drive PCMCIA connector in a static dissipation bag having a conductive coating on its exterior surface; grounding the static dissipation bag by connecting the bag to the computer and to an operator, extending the PCMCIA connector outside the bag, connecting the new hard drive via the PCMCIA connector to the PCMCIA or equivalent port of a computer, transferring the data on the computer to the new hard drive, disconnecting the PCMCIA connector from the computer, removing the new hard drive from the static dissipation bag, disconnecting the hard drive connector assembly from the new hard drive, and installing the new hard drive in the computer.
