Embodiments of the invention include instruments () and methods useful in delivering graft material () to a surgical site. Some embodiments may particularly be directed to forming a graft () and accurately and effectively handling and delivering the graft () to a surgical site arthroscopically. Graft material () may include blood components such as clotted fibrin derived from a patient's or a donor's blood.

Graft preparation and delivery instruments and method

A computerized system provides assistance for placement of localization markers for medical operations such as ACL repair procedures. The system displays, on a graphical user interface, an image of an anatomical structure and allows identification, via an input device on the graphical user interface, of a set of landmark locations identifying respective anatomical positions within the displayed image of the anatomical structure. The system displays a graphical overlay over the image of the anatomical structure. Placement of the graphical overlay is based on the set of landmark locations. The system displays at least one localization marker within the graphical overlay. The localization marker(s) identify a location for performing a surgical operation associated with the anatomical structure, such as ACL repair surgical operations.

A graft caliper provides for a first member having a first pick at its distal end and its proximal end attached to a handle. A second member of the graft caliper is disposed above the first member and has a second pick at its distal end that extends beyond the first pick. The proximal end of the second member is attached to an adjuster which causes the second member to move from a first position to a second position in order to change a distance the second pick extends beyond the first pick. The graft caliper provides for an indication of at least one metric for describing the distance the second pick extends beyond the first pick and places an identifier on a surface of bone representing the location of a tunnel to be formed through a femur, tibia or any other anatomical structure.

A sheath for organizing soft tissue includes a first tube having a flexible body sized and shaped to receive a fixation device, and a second tube coupled to the first tube having a flexible body sized and shaped to receive a soft tissue graft. A method for implanting soft tissue in a bone tunnel includes coupling a soft tissue graft to a sheath assembly; and positioning the sheath assembly relative to the soft tissue graft based on a measured depth of a bone tunnel. A set of surgical devices for implanting soft tissue grafts in a bone tunnel includes a sheath assembly, a measurement device for measuring the depth of the bone tunnel, a securing element configured to secure the sheath assembly to the soft tissue graft at a position determined by the measured bone tunnel depth, and a tensioning device configured to organize a plurality of soft tissue grafts.

Sheaths for implantable fixation devices

An anchor with collapsible flukes is provided with a spring tensioned latching mechanism which normally prevents the flukes from moving from a latched position to a collapsed position. The latching mechanism is unlatched and the flukes collapsed by a releasing mechanism including a compression spring and a firing pin. Tension on an anchor line draws the firing pin against the compression spring and, upon a sudden release of the tension in the anchor line, the firing pin is driven against the latching mechanism to unlatch it and permit collapse of the flukes.
