Aspects and features of a burner for a cooking appliance include a first plate defining flame ports arranged in flow-sharing groups around a periphery of a combustion surface and a second plate coextensive with the first plate. Each plate is contoured so that the plates define an annular void within the burner. The annular void is fluidly coupled to the flame ports. In some aspects, each flow-sharing group includes clusters of flame ports, with each cluster including flame ports of two different diameters. The plates can each be made using the same tool such as a die, stamp, or mold, and the burner can be sized and installed in a cooking appliance so that it extends to cover a large portion of a wall of the cooking cavity of the appliance.

A gas line support device configured to support a gas line in a domestic home appliance includes: a base, the base having a plurality of contact portions that are configured to rest on a surface in a chassis of the domestic home appliance; a central portion having a first end and a second end opposite the first end, the central portion being attached to the base at the first end of the central portion; a gas line cradle attached to the second end of the central portion, the gas line cradle being configured to support a gas line in the domestic home appliance; a passage in the base, the passage being formed between two of the contact portions of the base and being configured to receive an electrical wire such that the electrical wire passes through the passage and below the gas line cradle; and an attachment portion extending from one of the contact portions of the base, the attachment portion being configured to attach the gas line support device to the surface.

A removable control panel console for a cooking appliance may include a front panel having upper fingers that hook onto apertures in a bullnose feature of the appliance. The control panel console is pivotable in this configuration, and may be secured to the appliance by raising the front panel to fully insert the fingers into the apertures and fastening a bottom wall of the control panel to the appliance. Side walls of the control panel console may include tabs that are received into corresponding slots in a front surface of the appliance, providing an additional alignment and security feature.

A domestic appliance has a width in a horizontal direction and a height in a vertical direction. The appliance includes a main housing; and a first door attached to the main housing. The first door has a rear portion, the rear portion being positionally fixed in the horizontal direction relative to the housing, a door retainer attachable to the rear portion such that the door retainer is locatable at a plurality of different positions relative to the rear portion, and a door skin, the door skin being removably attached to the door retainer.

A control panel for a domestic appliance has a main body having a front surface; controls attached to the main body that provide instructions to devices of the domestic appliance; and a display unit located in the main body. The display unit has a stationary portion attached to the main body, a pivoting portion pivotably attached to the stationary portion, the pivoting portion having a closed position and an open position. The pivoting portion has a front surface and a display that displays information to a user of the appliance. The display unit also has a pivoting mechanism that attaches the pivoting portion to the stationary portion, a mechanical urging member that urges the pivoting portion in a direction from the closed position to the open position, and a holding mechanism that retains the pivoting portion in the closed position.

A control system for a cooking appliance having gas burners is configured to control a speed of one or more cooling fans of the appliance based on information sensed about a position and/or motion of a knob associated with one of the gas burners. The information about the knob position and/or motion may be determined by a rotary monitor and/or any other suitable sensor. In some examples, the control system is further configured to control a gas valve coupled to the burner based on the sensed information about the knob.
