Capacitive coupling assembly (60) securable about a shielded connector (10), for isolating the connector shell (14) from a conductive panel (4) after mounting. Coupler (60) includes a dielectric member (61) secured between front and rear conductive sheets (62, 63), and includes a plurality of capacitors (72) held between the sheets and electrically engaged therewith. The dielectric member (61) includes a flange (67) that insulates the connector shell (14) from front conductive sheet (62) and the panel (4) at cutout (5). Front sheet (62) engages the panel (4), and rear sheet (63) engages the connector shell (14) at spring arms (78).

Electrically connector with capacitive coupling

Capacitive coupling adapter (40) associated with a shielded electrical connector (12) and including at least one capacitive subassembly (54). Each capacitive subassembly (54) includes a capacitor (46) and a pair of contacts (50,52) engaged with respective electrodes thereof. One contact section (68) of a contact (52) extends from a surface (58) of the adapter housing (42) to engage a shell of a connector (12), and one contact section (64) of a contact (50) extends from an outer surface of housing (42) to engage a cutout peripheral surface (14) of a conductive panel (16) when the adapter/connector (40,12) is mounted in the cutout. The connector shell (22) is thus capacitively coupled to the panel.

Capactive coupling adapter for an electrical connector

An electrical connector (1,100) for a DIN rail (2) with rail flanges (6), including a body (3,102), a carrier (16,104) vertically movable with respect to the body (3,102), an actuator (14,110) and a pair of clamp members (5,106,108) having rail-engageable hook portions (26,148). At least one of the clamp members (5,106,108) is movable toward the other by the carrier (16,104) upon actuation for mechanically and electrically clamping onto a respective rail flange (6). A pair of such clamp members (5) may be cammed inwardly and upwardly along slots (30) in side walls (9) of body (3) upon actuation, or the clamp members (106,108) may include flanges (158) pivotably held in body side wall holes (162) for rotating the hook portions (148) inwardly and upwardly against the rail flanges (6). Such connector (1,100) is adapted to be mounted beneath a circuit board (10) prior to being clamped onto the DIN rail (2).

An electrical connector (1) comprises conductive electrical contacts (3) within an insulating housing (2), and a conductive shield (40) encircling the housing (2); a latch (53) latching together portions (51,42) of the shield (40) to enclose the housing (2); and a projecting housing portion (37) impinged against the shield (40). The housing portion (37) biases the housing (2) against the shield (40) to immobilize the housing (2) at a desired position relative to the shield (40).

An electrical connector (1) comprises electrical contacts (3) arranged in two contact rows on opposite sides of an insulator (6), with the contacts (3) in each row being spaced apart laterally one from one another, the contacts (3) being arranged in pairs with the insulator (6) being between the contacts (3) of each pair, mating contact portions (24) on each pair of the contacts (3) overlying each other in opposed spaced relationship, and electrical terminals (26) on each pair of the contacts (3) being offset from each other in lateral directions, and being offset from each other front to rear.

An electrical connector comprises, a housing (2), conductive contacts (3) in the housing (2) extending toward a mating end (23) on the housing (2), channels (25) in the housing (2) receiving respective contacts (3), and core pin openings (34) in the mating end (23) communicating with the channels (25), wherein the channels are formed with precision in a slender mating end (23) on the housing (2).

An electrical connector (1) for a battery (2) comprises, electrical battery terminals (5, 6, 7, 8), a first pair of the terminals (5, 8) connecting battery cells (4) electrically in series, a second pair of the terminals (6, 7) comprising data and charging terminals, an insulating package 3 containing the cells 4 and at least a part (14) of a charging control circuit, and accessible portions (18) of the terminals (5, 6, 7, 8) being accessible through an end (19) of the package (3) and also through a side (20) of the package (3), whereby the end (19) and the side (20) of the package (3) are adapted to matingly engage another, mating electrical connector (24).

Connector for a battery

A composite electrical connector assembly (20) includes a plurality of individual cable connectors (24, 26, 28) contained within a unitary housing (22) having an interior cavity (76). The connectors have front mating portions ( 30, 32, 34 ) which extend through open regions (70, 72, 74) on the front wall (60) of the housing and are retained by resilient latch members (78, 86, 92, 94) within the housing cavity and which engage the back surfaces (48, 50, 52) of enlarged portions (42, 44, 46) of the connector bodies (36, 38, 40).

Composite electrical connector assembly with snap-in housing

A panel mounted electrical connector is disclosed in combination with an equipment rack, multiple units of electronic equipment arranged in the rack, each unit having a connector in mating engagement with the connector mounted on the back panel of the rack. The panel mounted connector is arranged to align and hold in proper position multiple connectors, thereby forming a composite connector that mates with a mating composite connector on the unit of electronic equipment. Cutouts are provided in a surface of the composite connector so that cabling that is terminated to the connector may exit the connector at right angles thereto substantially parallel with the back panel.

An electrical connector (1) comprises, first and second clasping bodies (2) that interlock with each other and define therebetween multiple housing cavities (3), multiple cable connectors (4) in the cavities (3), each connector (4) having a housing (5) with an external profile encircled by one of the cavities (3), front mating faces (7) of the connectors (4) being aligned side to side, relatively wide sections (10) of the connectors (4) overlapping one another laterally, side to side, to achieve a compact width.

Combined electrical connector

A bus bar carrying electrical plug connector (2) for mating with a receptacle connector (4) mounted to float in the back panel (P2) of a drawer containing a power supply distribution module, comprises the rear insulating housing member (6), a bus bar and contact assembly (8) and a front insulating housing member (10). The bus bar assembly (8) comprises bus bars (32) from a forward longitudinal edge of each of which projects a socket contact (34), the opposite edge of each bus bar (32) being formed with a notch (40). The rear housing member (6) has a back wall (12) provided with a row of alternating merlons (28) and ribs (30). The front housing member (10) has through cavities (52) each for receiving a respective contact (34) and rearwardly opening slots (60) communicating with the cavities (52) for receiving the bus bars (32). When the housing members (6 and 10) are assembled together about the bus bar assembly (8), the ribs (30) engage in the notches (40) in the bus bars (32) and the merlons (28) engage opposite side faces of the bus bars (32) whereby the bus bars are supported in the connector (2).

An electrical plug connector (2) for mating With a receptacle connector (4) mounted to float in a back panel (P2) of a drawer containing a power supply distribution module, comprises polarizing alignment members (68,78) arranged on opposite sides of a forward plug part (42) the connector (2). The polarizing alignment members (68,78) are offset from each other longitudinally of the plug part (42) and unsymmetrically with the longitudinal center of the plug part (42). The receptacle connector (4) has a hood (106) formed with opposite alignment member receiving arcs (136,138) which are offset unsymmetrically with respect to the longitudinal center of the hood (106) in such a way as to be capable of receiving the respective polarizing alignment members (68,78) of the plug connector (2). The plug connector (2) can be mounted to further panel (P1) which may be part of a fixed casing, and which has alignment member receiving recesses (95,96) complimentary with the polarizing alignment members (68,78) of the plug connector (2) and with the alignment member receiving arcs (136,138) of the receptacle connector (4). By virtue of its polarizing to the further panel (P1), the plug connector (2) can only be mounted to the casing in its correct orientation for mating with the receptacle connector (4).

An electrical connector 10 for mating two blade-shaped members 120,130 includes a dielectric spacer member 38, a plurality of discrete electrically isolated first terminal members 68 and at least a plurality of discrete electrically isolated second terminal members 88 secured to each opposing major surfaces 40 of spacer member 36 for electrical interconnection of first and second electrical articles; and means insulating associated said first and second terminal members from each other. Each first and second terminal member 68,88 includes first and second cantilevered spring arms 70,76,90,96 respectively extending outwardly in opposite directions from a respective intermediate terminal portion 74,94, the plurality of contact arm of first terminal members 68 defining a first and second contact arm arrays 80,84 and the plurlaity of contact arm 90,96 of second terminal members 88 defining third and fourth contact arm arrays 102,104. In the assembled connector 10 the opposed first and second contact arm arrays 90,96 define first and second blade receiving receptacles 82,86. The opposed third and fourth contact arrays 102,104 extend outwardly and essentially coplanar with the associated first and second contact arm arrays 80,84 thereby extending first and second blade receiving receptacles 82,86 respectively. Upon mating the connector 10 with blade-shaped members 120,130, a plurality of discrete current paths are established between the corresponding first and second sides 122,132;126,136 of the blade-shaped members 120,130 respectively.
