A metal ionic antimicrobial surface configured for external use on a surface location in an indoor environment. A surface structure includes a pair of opposed major surfaces, one surface forming an exposed layer having a pattern of conductive strips and corresponding insulative spacings with a power pod structure secured to the surface structure. The power pod structure houses a battery and a power control circuit electrically connected to the conductive strips. In embodiments, the battery has an amp-hour capacity of 150-1500 mAh, an average width of each conductive strip of copper and silver metallic ions and each insulative spacing is between 0.1 to 0.5 millimeters, and the power control circuit includes a voltage booster circuit that maintains a constant low voltage of 2.5V-4.5V. The antimicrobial surface provides a replaceable period of at least a month of generally continuous and consistent reduction in microbial contaminants when positioned on surface locations that correlate to a zone of high impact regions for transmission pathways of microbial contaminants. In embodiments, a continuous reduction of at least 99% in microbial contaminants and at least a 2× reduction in other contaminated surfaces in a zone within the indoor environment proximate the antimicrobial surface is achieved over the replaceable period.

Battery-activated metal ionic antimicrobial surfaces

A helmet liner that is infinitely adjustable by the user in the field is provided. The helmet liner includes front, center and rear cushioning portions with integrally formed spaces between the front and center portions, and the rear and center portions. The integrally formed spaces provide the liner with the ability to independently flex [in one degree of freedom] and bend [in a second degree of freedom] to collapse the spaces without any overlapping of cushioning portions and thereby conform the liner to the hemi-spherical shape of the wearer's head. The spaces provide ventilation for the wearer's head. The helmet liner may also provide for variable thickness of one or more of cushioning portions as well as antimicrobial treatment of the fabric. By increasing the thickness of the rear cushioning portion with respect to the front cushioning portion, the number of optimum fits achieved by the liner is maximized, while biasing the wearers head toward the front of the helmet, thereby increasing the wearer's field of view (FOV).

Size adjustable safety and comfort liner for a helmet

There is provided a pad set for a protective helmet. The pad set includes a plurality of internal pads of various thicknesses. A plurality of pad retaining/locating devices each have a pocket for receiving at least one of the plurality of internal pads so as to form an individual pad of the adjustable pad set. At least one fastener for each of the plurality of pad retaining/locating devices respectively secures each of the plurality of pad retaining/locating devices to a selected location within the protective helmet. An anti-microbial/biocidal agent is added to the pad retaining/locating devices and/or integrated into a pile like portion of the at least one fastener of the pad retaining/locating devices.

Padset for protective helmet

A protective headgear assembly for use by personnel required to use sighting devices in which a close-fitting helmet carries impact-resistant, energy-absorbing material over that portion covering the wearer's nape, crown and side head portions over the ears but which is free of such material in the frontal portion which covers the wearer's forehead to permit the wearer to bring his eye into close proximity with a sighting device. A separable body of impact-resisant, energy-absorbing material is removably positioned over the helmet frontal portion by detachable fasteners which secure the body to a soft cover on the helmet where the wearer desires only bump protection or by a separable part of a two-part ballistic shell attached to the helmet where the wearer desires both bump and ballistic protection. The helmet can be adapted for use by non-sighter personnel by using either a unitary soft cover or a unitary ballistic shell to position the separable body on the helmet.
