A cap for a fluid sensor is provided. The cap comprises a cap input port including a first toolless connector configured to removably couple to a cable; and a cap output port including a second toolless connector configured to removably couple to a cable. The cap may further comprise an interface circuit including a circuit input port, a circuit output port, and a sensor port configured to couple to the fluid sensor. The first toolless connector may be configured to removably couple the circuit input port to a cable and the second toolless connector may be configured to removably couple the circuit output port to a cable. The circuit will automatically sequence the signals on the cable, so standard one-to-one wired cables can be used.

Wiring interface for fluid sensors

A non-contact medical thermometer is disclosed that includes an IR sensor assembly having an IR sensor for sensing IR radiation from a target, a distance sensor configured to determine a distance of the thermometer from the target, and a memory component operatively coupled at least to the IR sensor assembly and the distance sensor. The memory component contains predetermined compensation information that relates to predetermined temperatures of targets and to predetermined distances from at least one predetermined target. A microprocessor is operatively coupled to the memory component. The microprocessor is configured to perform temperature calculations based on the IR radiation from the target, the distance of the thermometer from the target, and the predetermined compensation information.

A heater includes a heating unit that supports at least a high-power state, a low-power state and a stand-by state. A control circuitry of the heater implements a state machine to control the heating unit, with respective states in the state machine corresponding to power states in the heating unit. The transition from a first state to a second state in the state machine is determined by a comparison between a measured ambient temperature with a predetermined threshold temperature for transitioning from the first state to the second state.
