An apparatus for collection of yard debris combines a vacuum pick up with a blower unit, a separator, and a detachable accumulator with an attached roller to support the accumulator upon detachment from the separator. The apparatus collects and entrains debris in an airflow induced at the vacuum pickup, impels the debris to the separator which removes the debris from the airflow, and deposits it in the accumulator which is supported by a roller to aid subsequent dumping when the accumulator is detached.

A process for directly forming multiple layer web, and creping such webs to provide absorbent, soft and bulky, creped tissue. The process produces a laminar fibrous formation with outer layers of strongly bonded fibers separated by an intermediate central section of weakly bonded fibers, which outer layers are creped such that the crepe in one outer layer is independent of the crepe in the other outer layer. The process utilizes a multiple slice inlet with different fiber stock supplied via the inlet to form the weakly bonded central layer of the fibrous formation; the base formation is subjected to two creping operations: one side of the fibrous formation is adhered to the surface of a dryer and creped therefrom, the once-creped web is inverted, and the other side adhered to the surface of a dryer and again creped therefrom, producing finely creped, soft and bulky outer surface layers of strongly bonded fibers which are capable of delamination, each layer shearing away from the other during the creping operations because of the weakly bonded intermediate fibrous section and the final product simulating a two ply tissue in bulk and softness while having been formed as a single ply.

A method of forming a lightweight, airlaid web of wood fibers suitable for tissue and toweling applications comprises airlaying a wood fiber continuum onto a foraminous carrier, bringing the continuum into contact with a transfer member printed with an adhesive in a preselected pattern, the adhesive being disposed in a low viscosity fluid, and removing the fluid to provide an airlaid, adhesively bonded web.

A method of forming an airlaid web at high speeds, the web being suitable for tissue and toweling applications, includes air forming a flimsy continuum on to a foraminous surface, wetting the continuum in a prescribed fashion, employing the wetted surface of the continuum to achieve stripping from the foraminous surface and transfer to a transfer surface and bonding the continuum to yield a coherent web while the wetted continuum remains adhered to the transfer surface.
