A compliant electrical connector pin has opposed convex surfaces to grip the surfaces of a hole in a circuit board, the pin having a compliant region so that the pin compresses to reduce the cross sectional area of the pin as the pin is inserted into the hole with the pin having a transition zone proximate the compliant region with the transition zone and the compliant region sufficiently interrelated so that the transition zone partially expands the hole in the circuit board before the hole in the circuit board begins to compress the compliant region of the pin with the compliant region and the hole coacting to provide a low resistance electrical connection between mating surfaces of the hole and the pin without rupturing the material on the side walls of the hole with the compliant pin structure being able to withstand vibration without fracturing.

Compliant pin

The process of the preparation of production quantities of lens devices fabricated from synthetic resinous substances, normally referred to as 'plastic lenses.' The process utilizes a molding formulation which enables reusable mold cavities to be utilized, the formulation providing a proper balance between a number of processing parameters or variables, one of the primary parameters being the maintenance of a proper adherence or release capability between the surface of the lens being fabricated and the surface of the mold cavity. Specifically, it has been found that certain silanes when incorporated in the molding formulation controls the parameters so as to provide for controllable release of the lens product from the mold.

An etching system having a first member for unrolling and fastening a protective film on one side of a continuous strip of metal and a second member for smoothly stripping the protective film from the continuous strip of metal after the continuous strip of metal and the protective film have passed between sets of spray jets that are located on opposite sides of the continuous strip of metal. Further etching and rinsing stations are provided for completing the etching process to enable mass production of television aperture masks having a plurality of openings which have a dimension on the order of or less than the thickness of the mask material.
