A system transports a device into a piece of industrial equipment for the purpose of collecting data inside of the industrial equipment. In an embodiment, the industrial equipment is a furnace and the device is an IR camera. The system opens a door covering an opening on the furnace, moves the IR camera inside of the furnace for a short time, the IR camera captures images, and the system removes the camera from the furnace and closes the door.

A manifold which mounts a transmitter to a pipeline comprises a body of rectangular-like shape. The body has a first surface and a second surface at right angles to the first surface. The second surface of the body includes a first and second input port, and the first surface of the body includes corresponding first and second output ports. The body also includes a first and second channel internal to the body such that fluid is conducted between the first input port and the first output port, and fluid is conducted between the second input port and the second output port. The body further includes an internal crossover channel between the first channel and the second channel. A third channel is provided internal to the body for permitting steam to flow therein, thereby providing heat to the manifold. A first and second valve is included for controlling the conducting of fluid in the first channel and the second channel, respectively. A third valve is included which controls the flow of fluid in the internal crossover channel.

A manifold which mounts a transmitter to a pipeline comprises a body of rectangular-like shape. The body has a first surface and a second surface at right angles to the first surface. The second surface of the body includes a first and second input port, and the first surface of the body includes corresponding first and second output ports. The body also includes a first and second channel internal to the body such that fluid is conducted between the first input port and the first output port, and fluid is conducted between the second input port and the second output port. The body further includes an internal crossover channel between the first channel and the second channel. A first and second valve is included for controlling the conducting of fluid in the first channel and the second channel, respectively. A third valve is included which controls the flow of fluid in the internal crossover channel.

Integrated manifold for coplanar pressure transmitter

A pressure transmitter comprises a first housing having a first and second diaphragm for receiving a first and second process fluid under a first and second pressure, respectively. The first and second diaphragm is deflected in response to the first and second pressure of the process fluid. A second housing includes a printed wire board. A first and second capillary tube is included, the first capillary tube being operatively coupled to the first diaphragm and the second capillary tube being operatively coupled to the second diaphragm, each corresponding capillary tube having an internal fluid therein. A sensor package, having a sensor element, is mounted internally within the second housing, and is coupled to the first and second capillary tubes such that the sensor element provides a first signal which is coupled to electrical circuit components mounted on the printed wire board to output a signal representative of the differential pressure of the process fluid.

Coplanar pressure sensor mounting for remote sensor

The apparatus for sensing pressure comprises a header, having at least one input port for receiving a substance under pressure. A substrate, having a wafer-like shape with a relatively large surface area in comparision to its thickness, includes at least one internal passage to couple the substance under pressure. A pressure sensing element is mounted onto the surface of the substrate over an exit port of the internal passage coupling the substance under pressure. The substrate is bonded to a surface of the header at extreme locations from a location in which the pressure sensing element is mounted. Thus isolation is provided for the pressure sensing element from unwanted stresses induced in the substrate.

A pressure sensor package, having a dual-in-line package (DIP) structure as commonly used in the semiconductor industry, comprises a first layer of predetermined material, having at least one internal passage for transmitting a fluid under pressure from a first surface of the first layer to a second surface of the first layer. A pressure sensitive element is bonded to the first surface of the first layer, and covers an exit from the first surface of the internal passage. A lead package, has a plurality of pins, each pin being perpendicular to the first surface of the first layer and placed along a first and second length of the first layer exterior to the pressure sensor package, and having a spacing conforming to the DIP configuration. Predetermined points of the pressure sensitive element are electrically connected to predetermined pins. A second layer of predetermined material is bonded to the first surface of the first layer providing an enclosed spaced for the pressure sensitive element.

Pressure sensor package

A pressure transmitter assembly includes a laminated ceramic structure for providing fluid passages as well as a support for a pressure sensor, electronic circuitry, fluid barrier diaphragms and input process fluid connections. The laminated structure is comprised of a plurality of co-fired ceramic layers having the fluid passages molded therein to enable fill fluids within the assembly to apply input pressures as a differential pressure across the pressure sensor. In one embodiment of the invention, three ceramic layers are used while a second embodiment uses four layers with an overload diaphragm captured between two of the layers. The laminated ceramic structure can be extended in either embodiment to include an outer ceramic circuit board which is bonded with a fluid-tight interface with an adjacent one of the other ceramic layers. Electronic components are mounted on the circuit board, either before or after bonding, which also provides a capability for further fluid passages extending between the circuit board and an adjacent ceramic layer.

Pressure transmitter assembly

An ink cartridge has a plurality of ink supplying elements coaxially mounted on a shaft for rotation therewith with each element having an ink containing layer molded integrally with an ink impervious layer covering a side face of the ink layer while an exposed radially outward edge face provides an ink supply surface. The ink containing layers are initially each molded into the ink impervious layer which provides a covering for one side face and a radially outward edge face of the ink containing layer. The edge face covering is subsequently removed from the ink containing layer to expose an ink supply surface of the ink layer. A substantial portion of the ink impervious material is retained in the exposed ink supply surface of the ink containing material to reinforce the surface pores therein while permitting an ink flow therefrom. The ink elements are subsequently assembled on the coaxial shaft in a parallel layered arrangement to position an ink impervious side face covering layer adjacent to an uncovered side face of an ink containing layer of an adjacent ink supplying element.

Ink cartridge and a method for making the same

A terminal block connector uses a first nut having an internal thread of a first diameter and type and a second nut coaxially arranged therewith having an internal thread of a second diameter and type. To further the universality of the connector, the first thread may be an SAE thread while the second thread may be a metric thread, while the first diameter is always smaller than the second diameter. The first nut is arranged to cooperate with a first diameter machine screw while the second nut is arranged to cooperate with a second diameter machine screw. The two nuts are held rotationally captive in a coaxial recess in an electrically insulating block with the larger thread diameter second nut located at the entrance to the recess. The smaller thread diameter first nut is initially positioned beneath the large diameter second nut and in frictional engagement with the wall of the recess with a space between the first nut and the bottom of the recess. In an alternate embodiment, the recess is substantially longer than the combined thickness of the two nuts, and a spring is located between the internal end of the recess and the inner one of the two nuts to urge the nuts together and against the recess entrance and to permit a separation of the two nuts by a machine screw engaging the second diameter nut while projecting therefrom into the recess.

Universal terminal block connector

A multipoint recorder has a multicolor ink cartridge arranged to be selectively aligned with a recording head having a plurality of selectively energizable recording elements whereby a color from the multicolor ink cartridge is selected for printing by the recording elements. A fixed color operation of the recorder enables a recording to be made in a single color by maintaining a preselected alignment of the recording head and a desired color in the multicolor ink cartridge. Alternatively, the color of the recording can be selectively altered at any time to produce a multicolor recording by selecting a corresponding color from the multicolor ink cartridge for each recording.

A thermal recorder having an analog recording stylus and a digital recording head uses a stepping drive means for intermittently driving a thermally responsive recording medium past the analog recording stylus and digital recording head. The analog recording stylus is maintained in contact with the intermittently driven recording medium which the digital recording head is mounted on one end of a pivoted support arm. A solenoid is connected to the other end of the support arm and is selectively energized to bring the digital recording head into contact with the recording medium during the interval between the stepped movements of the recording medium when the recording medium is at rest.

Analog and digital recording apparatus

A mounting arrangement for a recording head provides for an adjustment of the alignment of the face of the recording head relative to a recording medium disposed in a sliding contact relationship with the face of the recording head.
