An improvement to an integrated valve assembly which generally consists of a cluster of two poppet valves, four electric-solenoid-operated flapper valves, and four thrust nozzles and interconnecting plumbing. The improvement to the integrated valve assembly reduces the force required to operate the flapper valves thereby minimizing solenoid size, weight, and power consumption. The improvement consists of a modified flapper valve tip having a hole bored through the tip in the direction of tip motion, and a free-fitting piston located therein and suitably axially restrained relative to the flapper valve body.

Integrated valve assembly

A burst diaphragm sequence valve which effectively combines the structure a burst diaphragm with that of an ordinary swing check valve, the pivot of the ordinary swing check valve being replaced by an integral flexural hinge. The sequence valve provides a way to sequentially burn solid propellant hot gas generators which exit into a common gas manifold, thereby enabling gas-powered devices to operate for a longer time than the duration of one gas generator burn.

Burst diaphragm sequence valve

A combined reaction nozzle and fin control servo system to provide separate reaction and fin control of a missile for both high and low velocity flight phases. The servo system automatically provides a high gas flow rate for reaction nozzle control and a lower gas flow rate for fin control. The servo system comprises a gas generator in communication with the reaction nozzles and fins, the flow of gas being regulated by a plurality of dual area piston actuators, control valves and a relief valve.
